When it's filming day, Daria, Jaspar and I will head to places with interesting stories or that serve something specific we need to find. When it's not filming day, we go to Pratunam.
This is the small neighborhood- only 300 meters by 300 meters- within which is a tangled maze of alleys selling enormous quantities of wholesale textiles and electronics- is Bangkok's Little Myanmar. And Little India. And Little Nigeria. And on, and on.
It's an incredible melting pot of cultures, languages, and foods- a place where during the day, deals are done supplying stores all over the world, and all around are some of Bangkok's most absolutely unique and unbelievable restaurants, not meant for tourists but for the traders, buyers, and hustlers who fly in and out every single day.
So instead of planning a shoot, today we simply brought the camera with us while we worked our way through a small corner of the neighborhood, trying whatever caught our attention and learning its story.
