Very nice review, thank you. We had our new e-Niro delivered three weeks ago, and it's a perfect family car. In Norway, it's only sold with the long-range battery, and most people buy the fully spec version. Combining price, range, delivery time, equipment and warranty, it still outperforms any other EV in its class. We're just super satisfied.

Had my e niro since April 2019. it’s been fantastic. Not one problem. over 30000 miles so far. Here’s one thing to think about. You won’t get a second hand version of any of its competitors as they haven’t been out so long ,but you may be able to pick up a second hand one of these now. So if you’re in the second hand market this may be perfect for you. Great quality second hand EVs with fantastic range are what the market is crying out for.

I've had mine for 3 months but had an incident with the roof rails when on holidays with the family. Had standard roof bars fitted correctly and carrying two kayaks when one side just lifted off the roof in moderate wind. It turns out the roof rails have three sections. The middle sections are bolted down but the sections at the front and rear are merely clipped on making them a lot less secure. No joy from my dealer who have tried to blame the roof bars which were not Kia bars. I find the car fine for city driving but a bit lightweight for anything else. It looks like a crossover SUV but its really a city car and a bit lightweight. If I had known about this design flaw I would have got a Skoda or VW electric vehicle instead as we do a lot of kayaking around Ireland and no longer have confidence in the foof rails. I miss my Skoda which was built like a tank and you could drive anywhere!

A full spec Hyundai Kona Electric 64 kWh 2022 is a much better choice if you can live with a bit smaller boot space and a bit smaller space for rear passenger. Full spec Kona Electric 2022 is even cheaper than a basic spec Kia e-Niro here in Sweden. You get more range for the bucks with Kona and the new facelift looks more like an EV if you compare it to e-Niro. Looks even better than e-Niro. The textured piano panel in e-Niro is really bad too. True fingerprint magnet, small scratches will appear over time and it will be more visible when sunlight hits the panel or other light hits it. Kia e-Niro is not a bad car. The only down side for me is one I had to wait 14 months to get it and 2 what do I eventually swap it for the obvious choice would be the EV6 but will cost more and less spec unless you buy the GT Line which will cost considerably more. Skoda Enyaq? Very slightly larger, and slightly plusher inside, with a bit more design flair. Overall quality might nudge a little ahead of Kia's too. Worth a look........ Skoda seem to have lots of clever " why hasn't anyone else ever done that before" type details too, like the lidded cubbies under the front seats, and the nifty little ticket clip/holder on the driver's side windscreen pillar. Having owned 4 Skodas, I can vouch for the customer service/experience being well up to scratch too. Skoda always gets high ratings in customer surveys. As do Kia of course.... A slight bugbear with the Enyaq is that Skoda expect you to pay more to uprate the charging capability rating, to (I think) 125kw... But if that isn't something that matters, then the eNiro is a partucularly *practical* family car. If you want looks and a touch of design flair, try the Skoda Enyaq..... Also a very practical car. Both brands often do very well in customer satisfaction surveys.

I bought an E Niro in January this year. The main reasons were the excellent range and the 7 year warranty. It is a superb car, I absolutely love it! The range is very accurate, I’m averaging around 5 miles per kW at the moment.

Price is intentionally over inflated! If the eniro 2 spec 34kwh is only £2000 less than the 2 spec 64kwh then the bigger battery only cost £4500 at most total and yet the car cost over £10000 more than its petrol equivalent and that's a hybrid. So "Which" "consumer champion" how long would it take the average person doing 10k Miles a year to get their money back on the over spend?
@PhillChapman

I priced up an eNiro alongside a couple of similar spec petrol models (trim, performance etc) and with me charging mostly at home (and taking into account insurance, tax and current levels of depreciation), I calculated it should break even at roughly 1.9 years at 10k miles a year.

@@st4849 I've got an 18 month old Ioniq that I lease. I was expecting it to age really badly in terms of range, equipment etc and it really hasn't. The only thing it does badly is fast charge. It certainly runs rings around anything from the PSA group. Although I'm probably going to buy an ev6 next year and keep it long term. Big range, fast charging, loads of equipment and big boot with 7yr/100000mile warranty.

@@esm7708 Well, the issue for me is that the EV6 is bigger, accelerates like a rocket and has very similar range to the e-Niro. I don't need any of these improvements especially not at a higher price point. What I need is a 300+ miles winter motorway range for the e-Niro at the same price point. ...as let's face it, it's 2019 tech and in 2023 I fully expect the same price get me a much better range for the same class of car. It does have a 300 mile range since 2019, just make it a winter+motorway range by 2023.

My half price (used) Hyundai Tucson 1.6 petrol can go over 400+ miles per tank and fill up in 5 minutes. Nothing would make me want to spend £40,000+ on an electric car., which simply moves the emissions from the tailpipe to the power plant. Hybrids make much more sense for city and all round driving, best of both worlds. Don't forget governments all encouraged us to go diesel, now they are encouraging electric (even though power supplies are limited). This is another disaster waiting to happen!
