Pretty cool a guy your size can kick like this. I had a heavy bag since i was 5. Spend many hours a day kicking it. The room was also big enough to practise kicks they did in movies. I am addicted to kicking. Most people kickbox by punching wnd a kick her and there. I kickbox by spamming al sorts of kicks and only punch to annoy and distract. Im pretty good at doninating the space so generally they dont get close enough to prevent me from kicking. My length helps too as im 6 ft tall. I've ended up winning 26 medals in multiple discplines. Mainly judo, shotokan karate, kickboxing, mma and my favourite; hwa rang do. When i broke a foot the doc decided to xray my whole leg because a previous scan showed some fractures. My shin bone was overloaded because of running and sporting in general. The doc got way too excited. Apparently he could see my bones were dense and strong though the xray. I felt awesome at that moment 😬

@@DarkstreamLIVES haha thx. I love sports. Could always dump my energy in it. broke it in the army. 2 specialists said i could never sport again. I'm stubborn, so back do doing mma. But no more competing, lack of time and it might be better for my foot

@@DarkstreamLIVES they removed a big piece of bone on the inside of my right foot. Basicly the part thats also necessary for balance. I hope i will but im not counting on it. Just happy the pain is 9/10 times gone and i can train in a decent way. Struggle makes you stronger!

Ahh thank you! Definitely considered it previously, though I'd want to commit all my time to it, which isn't possible these days due to my film commitments etc., so in the meantime, I'll just keep training and stay healthy!

Hi John, i saw you have very good on both striking, Aikido and using knife. I want to practice soft style like you did on video few years ago. Can you advise me that should i go for jiu jutsu or Aikido? Hope to hearing from you!

Hello! Thanks for the comment! My Jujitsu and Aikido are quite modified, so they're not particularly traditional anymore! If you're looking for softness, Aikido is probably the one, though in terms of self defence, I'd advise Jujitsu!

Ahh thank you! I do a lot of hip mobility stretches these days; I find that really helps with my lower back and hamstrings!

Relax into your stretches, don't force them. Hip flexibility shouldn't be neglected either!

Stretch regularly throughout the week. Don't neglect hips and lower back stretches either. With each stretch, try to increase how long you hold it for and go deeper, but don't ever force it.

I hit the gym 4 times a week, 45 minutes per session. I just train for endurance; light weight, high reps, little rest in between sets
