Everyone always says "He was like a father to me". To be a father to so many and do it so well speaks volumes to his character, integrity, dignity, and heart. My favourite England manager of all time follwed by El Tel.

Absolutely. The care, time, energy and love he would've needed to spend on the people around him is quite remarkable. That is far far beyond doing a job or being a good boss. Some good lessons and inspiration for all of us in our lives, whatever we do.

I’m from Newcastle. I was born there in 1979. Left in 2005 when I joined the navy. The north east, the places in it, where I grew up through the eighties and nineties, were still full of stately gentlemen who were cut from the cloth of decency, hard work and honour that I will forever associate with my birthplace. My father was one. Also men like Nick Whitfield, Ron Cherry, Eric Briers at the People’s theatre where once Colin Veitch (socialist and Newcastle player) strode the stage as a founder, and Sir Bobby Robson was another. These men have almost all gone now but their example lives on in my memory. They were the best role models a man could ever have in life.

My favourite England Manager alongside El Tel. Robson was more than a manager. He had warmth, compasion, heart, and was always looking out for others. When he died it was more than just a loss to football. R.I.P Forever and always Sir Bobby Robson ❤

Sacking Bobby Robson was the worst Mistake in Newcastle United’s history. When they let him run the club and take charge of transfers boom things went well. When the club crawled back from under its shell and realised Bobby had made them one of the elite again they began meddling. Selling Gary Speed, giving the young players ridiculous pay rises, not backing him financially when it mattered but still expecting to achieve top four and win trophy’s and the biggest one sacking him and replacing him with Souness. Blackburn had just escaped relegation the season before, he fell out with all his best players and left the club in a mess. He comes in and they give him more money in a season and a half then Bobby had in 5 years I. Charge. Newcastle United and them players deserved everything they got.

Am toon through and through since 91 ..... but I couldn't agree more sacking wor Bobby was an absolute travesty and Newcastle paid for that sacking for nearly 20 years I would say not even bringing keegan back again made up for that mistake. Remember on my birthday in his first home game we won 9-0 and what a turn around he done with the club. Champions league the feyenoord game what a night the way he had Bellamy speed dyer ...a rejuvenated shearer again after nearly gone through ruud bullet. Statue outside SJP is so so well deserved favourite toon manager ever rip Bobby Robson ❤️ 🙏

@@kingjamiethe1stdontshoot706the thing is we like to pretend it was all rosy but we legitimately had some idiots in our fanbase calling for him to leave. Unfortunately there’s a portion of fickle and vocal fans we have, we still have them till this day, back in January calling for us to replace Eddie and now at the end of the season with him being linked with England, they want him to stay.

He was a former footballer from the 1950s, who became Ipswich manager in the seventies and won the UEFA Cup with them (now known as the Europa League). He went on to manage England at the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, taking us to the quarter final and semi final respectively. He went on to manage Barcelona, bringing Ronaldo to the club and winning the now defunct European Cup Winners Cup, then went on to manage Newcastle, taking them to the Champions League just past the turn of the century. But most of all, he was a truly decent, kind and honourable man, loved by everyone.
