Yeah this guy is amazing. I saw him once before years ago i think, but forgot his name and i just saw this thumbnail and clicked immediately. I could not remember half of that song, let alone play it perfectly, and i been trying to "get gud" for 35 years, never gonna happen. I would say it's peaked, but, shit there's always someone else. But i think it has really. It peaked in the 80's/90's, but some of these djent guys have some cool stuff, a lot of tapping i notice is the thing now, basically from like Jennifer Baten and Satriani was doing in the late 80's, and some others, but it seems to be a popular technique right now. I kind of stopped practicing it back because it sounded too cliche, and my whole goal was to never sound like anyone else if i could help it. Really a lot of modern playing is stuff is what the cork sniffer jazz and fusion guys were doing in the 70's and 80's with some added strings, or tuned down. I still love guitar and i love this shit, but it is rehash after rehash, after you live 50 years it all comes around again and it feels like you've heard it all before. Still impresses me because i still can't do it, lol. But it feels like, maybe because of the internet, there is so much high level talent. and people progress much earlier. Or maybe, it's just that it always was like that, but without the internet, you just never heard them all. I miss that small world bubble of ignorance, lol. Yeah, i'm starting to get why old guys just buy a strat or les paul and play blues licks for the rest of their lives :|

Really pleasantly surprised, although fully expected heavy stuff to erupt at every turn, until the 3 minute mark. It was so good until then. Forward to 7:38 for the outro. I just can't stand metal, although I respect the made skills an off time signatures, but melody is of paramount importance to me. Rhythm needs to serve and support melody, not dominate. But that's just me. Incredible musician for sure.
