They often recommend and offer guidance on doing so. I’m cases where you’re mixing product combinations that aren’t labeled, it’s recommended that you do a jar test. A jar test is where you mix a small amount of the products you’re combining to give any odd interactions to manifest.

Hi Turbo TylerIX. Short of pulling it, you'll have a difficult time getting rid of the common out of your Tifway. There's not really a herbicide that will target only common Bermuda and not damage your Tifway as well. If it' really looks bad, you could try having them replace the sod. My base lawn is Tifway 419 and had a bit of common in it as well. I just ignore it for the most part. When it's all mowed short, you can't easily see it unless you're up really close. It takes about a week to start seeing the results and a few weeks to really know out the kyllinga but things like dandylions are gone in about 2 weeks. Yes, it's expensive but so is my time and this combo works without the lawn showing any signs of stress. I have been mowing the weedy part of my lot AFTER my main yard, then parking the mower on the driveway and blowing it off before I put it away, and it's then covered in grass clippings (and seeds). The unmentioned thing about your products and method is that one bottle of that costs about $150.00 dollars today and the other almost $100.00. There aren't a whole lot of Home DIY people that want to shell out $250.00 for two tiny bottles of weed spray per year, when the "big box stores" sell sprays for $8.00 to $15.00. In their minds it just doesn't add up. Never mind the proper application and other things needed like the Dye, and Surfactant and sprayer they may not have. In most people's thinking if they are going to spend that much, they will just call a Lawn Spray service, and not have to mess with any of it , and be guaranteed the weeds will be gone.

As always great video. This is a great combo I've been using in a dedicated 1 gal pump tank for spot treatments. I use such a small amount of product when mixing, both bottles will last for years. I recently mixed both at the high rate, took care of some nutsedge, crabgrass, and kyllinga. I accidentally over applied and a little by my mailbox. My Zenith Zoysia had some very slight yellowing and slower growth, but after a 3-5 days it was back to normal. The nutsedge in that area quickly turned black within a week.

Great video Ron Some of the prices for professional grade herbicide can be substantial, so it was useful to see just how little needs to be mixed in with water. Overall I’m reassured that my purchase could go a lot further than I had previously thought 👍
@RonHenry
3 жыл бұрын
For sure Shazia. In most cases, a purchase of these homeowners is going to last several years. If you're doing the other things right (pre-emergent and regular mowing), you really shouldn't need to use them very often. As long as they're kept dry, they'll last a really long time.

I priced it. Around $300 for his products combined and that's around 40 applications. Just as pricey if not more than if you just bought it at Walmart. Maybe his stuff is better but I can't afford to do this for my yard. 😞

Hey Ron, sorry 1 more question. I need to spray for dollar spot and spot treat weeds in the same areas. I am using Propiconazole 14.3 for the dollar spot and Celsius and Certainty for the weeds. I don’t want to mix the products but can I do them a day apart? If so, an suggestions on which to do first? Trying to get them both done before the next round of rain.
@RonHenry
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can do them a day apart. Doesn't really matter Jerm. I'd probably spot spray the celsius /certain combo followed by the propiconazole. Again, doesn't really matter. Hope this helps.

Hi Ron. Great content. I live in New Jersey. I have some weed in my lawn. I have no idea what their names are. Can I adopt the strategy in this video? I see some videos talking about doing these things at certain times of the year when the temperature is about 50 degrees fahrenheit. The temperature around here is currently past that. Can I still use this method now or do I have to wait till next year? Thanks
@RonHenry

you can spot spray the weeds but I would identify what they are first. Given that you're in NJ, you likely have cool season grass so Celsius and Certainty wouldn't be what you'd want. Awesome video! Slight correction though. The patch you referred to as yellow nutsedge is actually green Kyllinga and it will likely need a follow up application to get rid of. You do also show a small patch of yellow nutsedge but the Kyllinga infestation is crazy. Hope thats not on your property cause after its knocked back slightly you might have to dig that area up and improve the drainage because if we get these conditions again next year it will be right back again.
@RonHenry

Heya SMK. Appreciate you chiming in man. The area where there's yellow nutsedge is actually in the swale area between my neighbor and I. It's where water drains for both of our lawns. Water doesn't settle there but it does drain through that channel every time it rains. It is something I've been treating every year. Thankfully, it's just in that spot. Appreciate the feedback and you watching. 🙏😎

So I planted a new lawn from scratch, The grass seed is germinating however I'm seeing ALOT of weeds starting to come up too... I'm a noob and didn't do any pre-emergent herbicides so thats on me. However I'm wondering what to do? Do I wait for them to get bigger and pull them? Do I spray them? In some areas it's mainly the weed instead of the grass that's coming up. My plan is to get them out and then over seed to fill in my patchy areas. If I spray them, how long before I can put down new seed? Any advise would be appreciated thanks!

If you're planting Bermuda grass, you can spray the weeds with this combination. You won't have to wait after spraying to add more seed to fill in the bare spots from your renovation.
