That is really painful, getting the edge of your boot, especially military or work style boots. Then I guess you could call it a kick? But it’s more like... You are stepping into/ through someone’s shin. The aim is to stamp and slide the hard edge of your boot from the top of their shin... run it all the way down if you can. Hard. (You close the space. It f***ing hurts, which could give you more time. It’s low so if your dancing around with your hands, like the flick, not likely they’ll see it coming.) The weight and intention. Stepping into it hard. Aim to shave the meat off the leg. Legs are/can be so powerful. And using yours to grate as much skin off their lower leg with the hard rubber side/edge of the boot... Definitely makes one wince. Also, you can potentially put yourself at even more of an advantage, not only have you taken the skin off their lower leg and taken their focus there... you could step out of it but.... From the knee down the shin down the ankle... you’re now stood on their foot. Palm strike/chin jab up and under chin as Tommy explains so well in his videos. It’s explosive (he does it more justice than me). We are not talking about tickling someone or doing people’s hair here. It’s a good move if you wanna go for the “as much damage as possible to get out of there” tactic. I think anyway. A good one to know. Correct me if I’m wrong. I would like to see it in a future video but done right (potential combinations?) I don’t think I have explained myself so well. Big love dude. Wishing you well

Good stuff. The finger flick is also the opening move in Shorinji Kempo- a distraction technique as a set up

Question Mr Moore: In the second combo, Why the is palm in the nukate (?) facing upwards? Would it not be easier or more natural that the palm would be facing downwards? Thank you in advance

Hi fella, it's completely up to you. I like both variations. Palm down I find helps me transition to a grab. Palm up I like to use at closer range for accuracy :)
