I have listened to this song multiple times and I decided to read the summary of the channel. I was surprised to find that Joe says that he 'resigned from Kimber's Men in October 2016. I had been very ill that year (nearly dying in May 2016) from Cancer. So after 15 years I was subsequently told I hadn't been missed in the six months whilst I was in hospital and wouldn't be missed in the future. So I'm working solo again and relieved to be out of a band where I was clearly disliked and not wanted.' It seems very harsh how he was treated. I think he really makes this performance what it is - he gets into the character of a crew member etc. I can't readily find information on the internet about the background to the dispute with the band.

It's not Bad... Johnny collin's version, is the best one I've heard... But, Kimber's Men have a few signature tunes that they perform, that are the best I've heard... Notably, "Bully in the alley"...

It’s to make sure he’s in tune. He’s actually curling his ear inward so it catches more sound from the direction his voice is coming from. At least, that’s what it looks like.

@@Erghheurghhthat‘s exactly what he‘s doing. in this style of ensembles you often see people do that to ‚in ear monitor‘ themselves. These environments can be extremely loud and this way you can clearly make out your own voice without the need to sing louder and louder.

Why would this song be sang at sailers funeral?
@SecretlyATrout
3 жыл бұрын
Because its about the sailors missing being at sea. The song is them acting as if they wont miss her (the ship) but they always will miss the ship and being at sea. So it would fit for a sailors voyage being through
