And of course the only win Teledad gets is sitting on royal oppression but that was to be expected. 3-0 for GB and don't even see perfect circle sneaky a win in for obvious reasons.

Well the fact that kin tele was able to play around royal oppression is something the deck had over plant links, so we could say its part of the strategy(?)

@@user-kp6df7bi8g if Royal oppression comes back it would need an errata, something along the lines of "can only be activated if you control no monsters" because the issue with it is you can just combo off, and then flip it going first at no downside.

@@covershopkid I've thought about that as well. Though I think even 2014 decks don't stand much of a chance against decks from 2017 and onward. Id like to see 2 tournaments split up 2003-2014 and 2015-present day
@thedman05
4 жыл бұрын
@@samskott2344 that's a solid split, because as it stands rn a lot of these matches are just not competitive. He could do a split like you suggest and maybe a smaller tournament where he pits the best 4 decks of the two tournaments against each other in a small tournament so it's less matches like these if people still want to see the old vs the newest

@@samskott2344 Heck, I'd support narrowing it further to "pre-Duelist Alliance" and "post-Duelist Alliance" decks, Duelist Alliance being the pack that introduced the Pendulum mechanic, as well as Tellars and Shaddolls. Not to suggest that power creep _wasn't_ a problem beforehand, but Duelist Alliance marked a very clear turning point where Konami decided they just didn't want the top decks at the time (Fire Fist, Madolche, etc.) to be viable anymore -- a mentality they've held to this day. Red reboot being the stake through the heart of teledad. Sad to see it get dunked on so hard. Glad Beast should win the next match easy. Would love to see it win the entire CBLC seeing as how the deck probably won’t realistically ever actually have to get the ban hammer

No surprise in that one, Plant Link combining a somewhat modern extra deck with 20 banned cards and broken links is devastating. They do have a weakness of somewhat a lack of interaction, trusting to the Knightmare protections. Next matchup should be a total slaughter. If Glad Beast goes full combo it's immediately over, and Perfect circle has exactly zero ways to disrupt against a turn one Glad beast setup. They need to basically 3-0 their going firs games, and that seems unlikely as hell. Mayyyyybe they can sneak one by piling on enough backrow, but this is a mismatch.

Couldn't really hope for anything else for DAD, guess this is just what happens when the modern deck gets to play more banned cards than old-school. 3-0 GB next match, Perfect Circle might be the weakest deck of the cup, and DEFINITELY doesn't belong in that group

Obviously power creep is to be expected. It happens in most, if not all, games. But it kind of pisses me off that Konami has raised the ceiling on this game so high. Card design has completely moved away from what it was at the games inception.
