I am so sorry, the damn You Tube puts millions of adds on my video, just skip them. They make money out of the ads, by the way this channel is not monetised for me. I only make these videos for the memories for me and people who do the race or for whoever that might be interested in fell/trail running.

Love the historical insights at the start, Olga. I live in Derbyshire and you've been up kinder before me. I really must get over there. I have been invited to do a training run on the skyline route near Edale but it's too close to my ultra, unfortunately. I'll get there at some point

Thank you Mark. It's funny, I met another person from Derbyshire doing the race who hadn't been up there before the race. No, it's not wise to do it before your ultra. Keep yourself fresh-ish and uninjured-ish.

Congratulations on finishing the Kinder Downfall fell race, with the bonus mile, and finishing strong at the end there, Olga! The race course and landscape looked incredible! I wouldn't mind getting lost out there myself 😄Interesting historical and educational post too 👍

Thank you, Thomas. I agree, it's a nice place to get lost. I was actually regretting it was a race because I really wanted to veer off to all the cool places. I nearly did, there was this cool place where the massive boulders were creating like a corridor around a narrow path and a few climbing scrambly places I had to just run past without playing around there :-(

Excellent race-footage with a nice build-up and an important lesson from history - one we shouldn't forget because very few rights are permanent. I remember a controversy in the early-to-mid 90s when the newly-privatised water companies wanted to change the land access laws on 'water catchment areas'. Bad luck going off course where you did, the Kinder escarpment has lots of spurs and offshoots. It's so easily done, either when it's misty or you're operating with race-pressure.

Oh I am glad they didn't change the laws. Some of our Forest of Bowland is owned by The United Utilities. I only went wrong way because I was trying to go around the walkers and I must've went round then too far right down :-) Not sure what's wrong with me lately going wrong way, very frustrated. I need to speed up. At least I would be able to see people.

Great video Olga! I was the marshall at the the cairn near the trig point. At 11-09 on the video you took the path to the right rather than carry on. Hopefully you will come back next year!

Hi Mark, thank you for marshaling. I really enjoyed the race. Not sure how I slipped off the top onto the lower path. But it was all good overall experience. These things happen sometimes.
