We love BFSU! Starting is the biggest hurdle, imo (the layout can be intimidating). Looks like a fabulous K year :)

I cannot wait to use it! I totally agree - it looks like a hot mess when I open the book. Thank goodness for guides and online help 😀

We use a moveable alphabet to help with spelling and it’s been so helpful. I will say the word “pig”, and my son will grab the letters to spell pig and put them in order while saying the sounds. We call it ‘word building’ instead of spelling too which makes it feel more attainable for my son. I love all your picks!

We are currently going through Build Your Library Level 0 Around the World, which is very similar. I will have a video soon comparing the two programs. But boy, we are so excited!

Could you do a flip through or review of the Project Learning Tree curriculum? It looks very interesting.

That's awesome! The Kiboomers also have some great music in other languages, especially French. I also highly recommend audiobooks. There are some free ones here on KZitem, like Harry Potter à l'école de sorciers. A search for "livre audio pour enfants" will be a goldmine!

How did you set up your mathematical reasoning in a binder instead of book form?
@ThatsRightIHomeschool

The pages in Mathematical Reasoning are easy to tear out. I removed them, then opted to laminate them so I can make them last longer for multiple kids. I found some lamination sheets on sale. So in all, it added a total cost of $10 + the binder. Not too bad for reusability! :)

If I do not speak French, do I need the teacher's guide? Or is it in English?😅

🤣 Les Loustics is for teachers who speak French. Even the teacher's guide is fully in French.

Is the curriculum same across US?
@ThatsRightIHomeschool
2 ай бұрын
No! There is no standardized curriculum in the public schools across the US. There are standards that are defined, but these also vary across the country (federal, state and district standards). Homeschooling families pick the curriculum to fit their families, and it isn't typically regulated as long as the state and district specific requirements are adhered to.
