I love homeschooling for the reason of seeing my children learn also!! It makes homeschooling so rewarding:)

They used a Shaduf to water! My son loved learning about that a few years ago when we learned about the Egyptians, and we are learning about it again this year with this curriculum. I threw Story of the World in after we had already started the year, but I'm really liking it. 😊

Ooh, I like getting to see some of the activity books. We have the chapter book, and I've heard of the associated activity books, but I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy of the activity book yet!

Thank you so much for this video! So helpful.❤❤ I'm currently using The Story of the World with my first grader and she absolutely loves it. I've been a bit unsure as to what I should do in terms of using the test book. I started using it for the first two-three chapters then realized that it's a lot of questions and my daughter wasn't that interested in doing the questions so I don't really use it now. Instead of giving her all the test papers, I write out three or four of the most important questions in her Story of the World Booklet that I put together for her and she will answer those questions and paste a picture related to the topic. Do you think this is a good approach?

This was so helpful! I've been thinking of starting this when my oldest is in grade 1, but was wondering if that was still too young to really bother, so this was so helpful! One question. A lot of the history curriculums I look at are very america-centric, if that makes sense. I don't mean that to be rude AT ALL. But we're Canadian and moving to Europe, so I don't really want to spend a quarter of the year on the specific history of a country we don't live in and aren't from 😬 From what I've seen I don't think this curriculum is that, but what do you think? Obviously that would be more applicable year 3/4, and I don't know if you've looked at those yet. But is it pretty well rounded globally?

Oh, no offence taken at all! I'm not actually American so I can completely relate to the struggle to find history curriculum that isn't american-centric. I've only read through the first book of the series but it is definitely world history and not american-centric at all. :)

Have you decided to stick with the Simply Charlotte Mason history guide or do you think you’ll come back to Story of the World? I’m debating the two!

Will you do this again for 1st grade? Or will you move onto volume 2? Also are you reading any other books with this? (I.e. picture books ). I'll have one going into K next year and bouncy around a few ideas for history. :)

We didn't add any picture books along with it and next year we'll be doing Bible/Geography/History from Simply Charlotte Mason. :)

@@ThisHomeschoolHouse I have looked so heavily at starting with that one for 1st grade too! I love the reading they have compiled and the "visits to..." that go along with the guides!
