Looks great! I learned quite a bit from this video, thank you. I've been involved in military aviation for 30 years and the weathering you recreated looks very good. Military aircraft take a beating, especially in a salt water environment and the technicians dirty hands and foot wear. Outstanding work.

It’s not just Kinetic; you have to be careful buying a LOT of these Chinese made model kits. Although I haven’t built one in about 10 years Trumpeter was by far the world’s worst with either ill-fitting or incorrectly shaped parts and if you’re serious modeler (like myself) you sometimes ended up spending more for corrections sets than what you did for the darn model kit itself! That’s why I always do my research before I pull out my wallet. If it’s American, European, or Japanese odds are certain it’s a good fitting kit but if it’s Chinese, watch out!

@@ihavewaited90daystochangem51 Only goes to show the Chinese wouldn’t know quality and accuracy if it kicked them in the butt! The first run-in I had with Trumpeter was building their 1/32 scale F-105D kit I bought it about 20 years ago and spent close to $100 on it only to be highly disappointed with all sorts of problems, most notably with misshapen pieces and a cockpit so bare it made me wonder why even add what little halfhearted details they put in it!? I had to spend over another hundred dollars just to get correction kits and better decals to fix the discrepancies. It was a lesson well learned for me, but like you I’ve had good and bad experiences with Trumpeter. The way I see it if another manufacturer makes the kit I’m looking for I’ll probably go with them instead.

Nice job Andy. You always do a fine job on your models. You make the even the basics look easy when I know from experience that isn't always the case. Sometimes it's the model, sometimes it's my attitude that gets in the way & I find myself having to push through to the end. There's nothing worse than having a workbench full of half assembled models! I try to hold myself to the edict that I can't start on something new until the previous model is complete, and it is NOT easy!

I love the build, don't love Kinetic much. Erm according to my research when I built my tiny 1/72, the powers that be decided medium sea grey was too light and the Harriers were repainted extra dark sea grey all over. The Argentinian pilots called them "muerta negra" Black Death. Keep the vids coming sir they are inspiring and your narration keeps the attention strong. Thank you.

You know, now I wonder, signs are one of those things like car alarms that serve no purpose and yet seem inescapable, but what struck me was the big 'ROYAL NAVY' markings. I have to wonder, I have to, if putting who 'owns' the attack jet has ever been even slightly useful in any context? Like, I'm pretty sure the RN knows it's their aeroplane. Jets aren't the sort of thing you lose track of even in the Navy. And I cannot imagine any situation where the baddies are saying 'I don't know who is shooting at me, I'll go have a close look... oh, it's the Royal Navy!' Feels like it's going to be one of those things where no one really knows why you still paint that on but no one's wanting to be the person who tell the RN to stop.
