@@frank-ko6de Troll somewhere else, please! What does age have to do with a documentary, and you know they make them about who has even died? Of course, the documentaries are called historical. The King has a Unitary parliamentary (constitutional monarchy) to which the King should be a MONARCHIAL MONITOR with a MONITORIAL POSITION rather than King being CEREMONIAL. The Majesty belongs to the King. The King allows a Unitary parliamentary (constitutional monarchy) to govern the people and businesses, just as the King accommodates shelter (housing needs) upon His Majesty for the people have a safe and secure place to live. HM King Carl XVI Guastaf is in a lineage of kings leading back to the Book of KINGS. In God's kingdom, God make Jesus Christ the Massiah who owns the heavens and gives angelical entities a safe and secure place to live in the heavens. Jesus is the King of KINGs which leads to HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden who provides a safe and secure place for where human beings can live.

It's interesting that some people say that the Scandinavian monarchies are less formal than ours. Yet this formal Diplomatic reception makes the way that King Charles receives ambassadors look like a friendly chat.

British are way more formal ,are you kidding me? You literally have people bowing or curtsying before the king, even before senior Royal like Prince William. There's of course royal protocol, but the king is way more approachable. The irony is he and King Charles are cousins!!!!

The Scandinavian monarchs may be involved in some things that the British monarchy have tried to tone down over the years. Especially things that have to do with the everyday running of the country. For example, the king of Norway still preside cabinet meetings (in military uniform), while the king of the UK hasn't attended cabinet meetings since the 1700s. In that way, you can probably argue that the Scandinavian monarchies are just as formal as the British. However. What I think people refere to when they make that statement, is all the ridiculously pompous ceremonies. Take the opening of Parliament, as an example. There is half an army of Heralds in golden cloaks, and a designated guy to carry a Santa Claus hat (the State hood). These things have nothing to do with the running of the country. They are there just because it looks more grandious and pompous that way. In other words, there is formality, but there is also vanity. The British may often cross over into that last category.

@@ruralor Wow. What a way to make it rude. I stand by what I said. In reality who gives a damn about the Scandinavian monarchs. A monarch needs to be seen to be believed otherwise he is just a regular citizen. The cap of maintenance is the lining of a crown not a Santa Claus hat. All these things are as equally important whether they are vain formality or not. By law parliament can’t sit without the monarch, the cap of maintenance and the crown itself present and dressed in state to open the session. You definitely miss the mark somehow. Most people aren’t even slightly aware of the other European royal houses. They are too boring and no one cares about them.

Look at the developed world, compare the monarchies and the republics. Most developed monarchies (Sweden, Norway, Japan, Danemark, Netherlands, Luxembourg, etc..) are at the top of developed countries. Republics in the another hand, are a mess, with massive corruption compared to their monarchic pairs (compare Japan to Korea, UK to USA, Nordic countries to Germany, Spain to Italy etc...) Monarchies seems to be way better when it comes to insure the continuity of the country moral and behavior of its elite. It's not 100% corruption and decadence proof, but it's making a way better job than short sighted republics. That's why, the most developed countries in the world, will always be monarchies.
