@@basketcase1235 The problem as I see it is that the EVA's are supposedly of extraterrestrial origin and as so we can't use terrestrial animals as models for muscle strength, speed of the signals in the nerves, the chemical processes and the energy they can maintain. It's just to much handwavium going on. Nerve is using the EVA's as their physiology makes them superior to any terrestrial animal or mechanical alternative, so that means we can't make any assumptions regarding their makeup. So basing any theory on the abilities of Kong on a paper written about the EVA's are not a good idea, at least not as I understand it. Of course that doesn't change things like inertia, friction and compressive and tensile strength of materials that limits the amount of energy it would be possible for a giant monkey or nuclear powered lizard to put down in order to accelerate. Lets just say that if GZ or K were to rush at each other with the speed they are usually attributed in their movies then every footstep would tear big craters and shuffle many tons of earth all over the place. And that is if we ignore the physiological limitations that at least Kong should be slave to. If I remember correctly the load on the legs increases four times if the body is scaled up to twice the height. So instead of being a proportional supersized gorilla Kong would have to have legs that were much much thicker to even be able to stand up. Same with the muscles in the legs and body. Kong would have to be as wide as he's tall, and the total weight would go up by a huge factor. which again put's more stress on the ground and means even more earth being shoved around for each step. So how large is Kong? Or perhaps we should look at how tall Kong is in relation to a Gorilla male. I haven't really looked at this before and don't feel like looking up any other theories on the net right now so lets guestimate a little. I had to do some searching though as I had no idea just how tall a gorilla male stands. According to Google the average is about 1.7 meters tall, so lets use that number. Now if we look at Kong from the Skull Island movie I'd say that Kong is pretty freaking huge, easily more than ten times the height of a typical gorilla male. There is some pretty awesome megafauna on Skull Island such as the buffalo. The largest megafauna, relative to it's ordinary size, is probably the preying mantis that the soldiers tangled with. And that's another case where they got the physics wrong. Those legs wouldn't be the size of the bamboo that they looked like. They would be more the size of culverts, and the idea of hacking through them with a machete is just ridiculous. Now back to Kong. While the mantis was probably larger relatively, Kong is still the most massive megafauna we get to see. I would actually estimate that he is closer to fifteen times the size of an ordinary gorilla male so I'm going to go with that. Why? Because I feel like it, and it's not like there are a real Kong to measure... So a double size Kong will have to have four times the leg sectional area to hold up the body. A four times Kong will need sixteen times the sectional area. Eight times and we're looking at sixty four times and go all the way to sixteen times size Kong and the legs would have to have a sectional area that's two hundred and fifty six times (256 times) as large as a normal sized gorilla. And yes I went all the way to a x16 sized Kong just to keep the math simple. Because now that's how big I say he is / was... Now if that sounds like he would no longer have the same proportions as a gorilla then I'm with you there... But as all this is about a movie I'll just make some popcorn and enjoy watching two CGI critters whack the tar out of each other while flattening some city or another with reckless abandon. And if none of them happens to adhere to any laws of physics I will just ignore that and cheer for the monkey as it smashes another ship over the head of Gojira...

@@astrophobia6049 You may be right. It's a long time since I watched the anime and to be honest it wasn't very clear about it all. Still the AT field thing is handwavium of the highest degree so trying to calculate movement speed, weight and load on the legs and all those things are pretty much doomed to fail. What we can calculate are things like how fast could humanoid X move if it was using a running motion, meaning there will be times when neither foot is touching the ground, IF we ignore physical limitations on the amount of power available, or how much load the skeleton can take before breaking. And we have to ignore friction of the feet, compressive and tensile strength of the ground and so on. We can also turn it around and use any numbers that has been mentioned in the series and try to calculate how much power is needed to achieve that performance. The more you think about it the more complicated it gets. But while we can do some guestimation and calculate some likely numbers for giant humanoids given the earth normal values, as soon as the AT field is added it all goes out the window.

@@blahorgaslisk7763 One thing people tend to forget with giant bipedal things, is how much movement is dependent on our speed of falling. If you put a human on the moon, they physically cannot run. The same problem exists for really giant bi-pedal beings. When you increase something's dimensions by a factor of 4, it takes it twice as long to fall the same body proportions. Increase something's dimensions by a factor of 36, and it falls at the same body proportion rate as a human on the moon. The result is that it becomes physically impossible to run bipedally, even if it was made out of infinitely strong materials and had infinite power.

I don't care if he's 200 feet taller than he was, his durability shouldn't scale up exponentially. Kong just has plot armor now. The other thing of note is Kong is observed as an omnivore/carnivore in Kong: Skull Island, because he eats a Mire Squid (A squid many times larger than a Giant or Colossal Squid) so at least in that aspect, he would have higher caloric intake than if he just ate Veggies, like a Gorilla.

Lol But seriously Kong had been around since the 80s maybe even earlier than that, building up his muscle which is much denser than fat. So yeah, he wasn't lifting weights or anything but he was physically active fighting the other monsters on the island, much more so than Godzilla who was sleeping the whole time. The only advantages Goji had over Kong was water maneuverability and more experience in combat. The King Kong in the new movies isn't the same King Kong Goji fought millions of years ago; this is an ancestor born on Skull Island without any experience fighting other titans that are as intelligent as him. I believe what the movie/movie writers were trying to show was that Kong and Goji were on equal footing physically, but Goji was more experienced in fighting. *EDIT* the big fuck off laser is technically an advantage, but I'm not counting it because Kong got an axe to counter it before the real big fight.

Another point I want to make, Godzilla *was* 100% rightfully the "King of Monsters" before humans spread out and started developing technologies to rival even him, but now in the modern era humans are a whole new faction Godzilla needs to consider. Without being able to easily communicate with the humans Goji would scare them and that's exactly what set the whole fiasco in the movie in motion. Kong CAN communicate with the humans, and looking fairly human-like himself with even human facial expressions, would definitely help him gain their trust more easily than a lizard. However, Kong does not have the loyalty of the rest of the titans, nor the fighting ability to defend humanity or the titans from external, or internal, threats; Godzilla does. I haven't looked at anything regarding the next movie, if there even is going to be one, but the best thing that the writers could make happen is that Godzilla remain King, and Kong would be an ambassador of sorts between Goji with his titans and the humans. This is assuming Kong can speak the energy language the titans speak that was revealed in "King of Monsters" but Kong and Goji seemed to be able to understand each other well enough.

@ADAJ342

He would not fall through the earth, but im not sure about the second question. Wether or not something is visible depends mainly on wavelenghts, however Wether or not something is visible *to us* depends mainly on how big an object is, so I guess it'd be possible for his attoms to spread so far apart you couldn’t actually see them any more that you can see regular attoms. While it's fair to assume, in the film Kong: Skull Island we only ever see Kong eating once, and what it was was a massive octopus/squid creature that just happened to live in a pond. The island kong lived one was home to many super-mega fauna and considering meat is much more energy sustainable than plants, that's probably how he lived. However i have no idea how they fed that thing after taking it away from its island. Unlike the MUTOS or Godzilla, Kong doesn't seem to use nuclear energy as a long term energy source so the real reason he'd lose in GVK is because the people carrying him didn't think to pack him a lunch box

And judging by our current models of how shit worked in the past, it would also make sense that some bacterium MIGHT be able to nom up the part of the fungus that enables the production of energy from radiation, and then just evolves from there. (That's our current model of how photosynthesis came to be.) So in theory - and under given conditions - you could have a more complex organism that evolves around a constant supply of radiation, and has their own energy production cycle based on the "digestion" of radiation going on. Caviat: I'm pretty sure those fungi still produce ATP internally, because as far as I know just about any form of life is based around ATP being used as cellular fuel. So you'd essentially run into the same problem with the ATP, but avoid the problem with the distribution throughout the body. Also, who knows how much energy might be in the flesh of kaiju that needed an environment of absurdly high radiation levels to evolve; Kong might still be powered by the radiation of that kraken he ate, or at least for a few years afterward (it was the 80's, after all.) This solves the problem of 'The Zill' eating out the oceans too.

More seriously, (now I've watched the video) Godzillia can't loose. Not for anything as fun as science though, simple narrative reasoning. Godzillia is allegory for humanity's hubris, especially around technology. His first appearance is fully linked to the threat of nuclear Armagedon, and he never stops being that. Even when he functions as protector he's incredibly destructive. The point of godzillia is that, for better or for worse, technology is here and it's dangerous. Kong on the other hand doesn't have as strong allegorical underpinnings. Depending on interpretation he could represent immigration or barbarism, and neither was core to his development. In modern times however there's been a push to frame him in a more positive light, and can now be considered allegory for nature. He maintains balance and fights against those who would disturb it. But unlike Zilla it's not fundamental to who he is. With that in mind we can see Zilla vs Kong as technology vs nature. Or more broadly as allegory for climate change. If Godzillia looses then it is saying that nature will eventually beat us back, so we don't have to worry about controlling our technology. Whereas if Zilla wins it is saying that our technology will destroy nature. Which is much more in keeping with the allegorical themes of Godzillia.

@@poluticon it's Godzillia, so yes, yes it is. Godzillia was literally created to give voice to the terror and pain the Japanese felt after Hiroshima & Nagasaki, and then Castle Bravo. His role as an unstoppable destroyer is because he is atomic warfare made manifest. He becomes a protector as nuclear power came online and people started to see that splitting the atom, whilst dangerous, could also be a way forward to the future. Japanese media, at least the big stuff that gets absorbed in the west, is often far more explicit in its philosophical underpinnings than our own. Godzillia is no exception.

This leads me to the amusing conclusion that one of the Necessary adaptations for any creature of that size would be something like how the octopus has extra like, mini brains in each limb that can react to things on their own. Octoape, lol. In seriousness though, the adaptation does exist in Cephalopodes today and I could swear there was at least one dinosaur species that was assumed to have something like that, though I could be misremembering the latter. It would make sense though.

Let's be real, Kong's actual size was NEVER to reach the size of Godzilla. The writers "oversized" Kong just to be able to make a "Godzilla vs. Kong" movie in the first place and the ONLY reason Kong stands a chance in this fight is because he is depicted (by the writers) as the "good guy" in this movie, while Gozilla is depicted as the "angry bad guy" in this movie (and we all know which side is mostly favored in a good guy vs. bad guy movie fight). That said, I personally predict that the fight will *end in a draw* and then both Godzilla/Kong will *team-up* to take on the REAL THREAT in this movie by the end of it.

I mean he has beaten godzilla so many times in comics and movies. I also think that Kong is going to win because of this *Intelligence* Kong Intelligence is already an advantage to beat godzilla, since he is the smartest titan and learns from his mistakes when fighting a titan and also knows and learns where a titan weak spot is and he is so smart that he bows down to know one. *Strength* Kong strength is not as strong as godzilla's because he doesn't have radiation but from movies he is quite strong , he may even have the strength to lift up godzilla. *Speed* Kong has a advantage for speed reaching up to 80 to 90 miles an hour and the reason why he has an advantage of this is because Kong is faster than godzilla and can do fast damage to him before he even gets a hit on Kong. *Creativity* Kong creativity is making weapons out of the resources that are around him and may even use vehicles and broken buildings to damage godzilla and also Kong has a special weapon that is called the battle axe made of godzilla spike as the sharp bit and M.U.T.O bone as a handle and as we see in the trailer, the axe can reflect godzilla atomic breath and can do some serious damage to godzilla. Who won in the 1962 "godzilla vs king Kong. Google : While the ending of the film does look somewhat ambiguous, Toho confirmed that King Kong was indeed the winner in their 1962-63 English-language film program Toho Films Vol. 8, which states in the film's plot synopsis, A spectacular duel is arranged on the summit of Mt. Fuji and King Kong is victorious. Who would likely win in a fight between godzilla and Kong ? Google : Kong Could Win: Due to His Growth King Kong, however, has grown a lot since his first appearance in Skull Island. This means that not only his body but his physical and mental strength have grown. The creature has simply evolved into a better versions.

A little off topic, but I've always wondered why animal heart rates work the way they do. As a kid I (wrongly) assumed smaller animals would have slower heart rates because it wouldn't take much to pump blood around their tiny bodies, and I figured large animals would have fast heart rates because it would take a lot of work to move a lot of blood around a large body. Now I know it actually works in the opposite way, but I don't understand why.

Not to mention the square-cube rule. If you double something's height, but it remains in the same proportions, you multiply it's volume, and therefore mass, by eight. bit late but im thinking the same, we cant just expect a huge animal like kong to just be built the same as a normal gorilla, anythin that evolved to be huge in size must've developed systems to allow it to do so. we have no comparison to see what kinda evolution could happen in a different environment that maybe could support huge creatures; differences in how bones develop or even what they're made of, along with maybe different energy processing systems for muscles. If we just compare it to how life has/can develop on earth then obviously kongs biology doesnt work out
