Another great Grilling JR. Listening to these videos while working, always a great combo. Was hoping during the ppv a Sensational Sherri and Luna Vachon match or even a segment during the ppv considering how their rivalry was on fire on TV and was pretty much one of the first female rivalries in really quite sometime. (i know a planned ppv mix tag match was planned for Summerslam, but something here at the King of the Ring would have been great to see).

@@chico1680 i think so too. i also thought why didn't Sherri come out and go after Luna during her run-in, but that may have taken away from the main event. i think maybe when the finals were revealed, Luna could have been interviewed backstage before the main event regarding Bam Bam Bigelow and Sherri could have attack her in the backstage area like how she was attacked backstage (and at ringside) at Wrestlemania.

I always assumed the time limit draw between Lex and Tatanka was to give Bam Bam a bye into the final match, making Bret more of an underdog. Also, it kept both strong. After WM9, it seemed like Lex was being built for a feud with Bret and Tatanka was still undefeated at this point (at least on TV) after being in the WWF for over a year. Didn't get pinned until that fall against Ludvig Borga thanks to some interference. Didn't lose again (and the first time he lost clean) until next year's KOTR when Owen Hart beat him in the first round.

I wouldn't expect Conrad to know because he is a Meltzer mark. But JR should have a clue. Hogan worked many house shows in 93. He worked between Wrestlemania and even after King of the Ring. His last match was just before Summerslam on August 6th in a European tour. There are plenty of places you can go to find this information. Hogan deserves criticism for some of the things that he's done and said over the years, but not wrestling during this time is being intellectually dishonest.

I always contend that Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart would not have clicked in 1993. It was a different time. “Small Technical good guys” did not just battle Hulk Hogan. From a visual standpoint it would look weird, as well. Their colors would also clash. Bret looked cool. Hogans style was becoming very dated as well. The technical guy back then, would have been the heel against Hogan. I never thought Shawn and Hogan meshed well either, but it was 2005 and all rules were out the window by that point.
