There is a marked barrier. Look down on the ground & you’ll see the cement lines and bricks, which is there to tell tourists this is the mounted KG’s space. Tho the tourists can see it, they choose to ignore the barriers, just like the double white lines inside the gates, going under the arches or even walking thru the mounted KG’s space vs going thru the gate & more. They can’t put up physical barriers as that could be deadly for the King’s Guards & esp to the King’s Horses. Definitely can tell who prepped themselves for a trip to London/UK. Tho believe most tourists leave their 🧠 back home when on a vacation or just a family day trip.😉😂😂 💜✌🏼🦋

There is a barrier marking on the ground if you look closely. It’s made of bricks and wide cement ‘lines’ around the bricks that originate from inside the mounted guard building. But most tourists ignore the laid out barriers, besides walk under the mounted guards arches to get close to a horse that has withdrawn back. Or if the areas are empty & doors open, some tourists walk thru these areas into and out of the inner Whitehall area. Just like tourists can’t see the double white lines or the brick paths the new KGs & KHs walk down to relieve the current mounted guards on duty.

My cousin was one of the Queens guards ( this was when the queen was still alive ) and for 6 months of the year his/there duty was to sit on there horse in full Dress Uniform so the public could get photos taken next to the horse and mounted guard and unless they were causing trouble or upsetting the horse the public can pat /stroke it my cousin used to tell us that 99% of the guards couldn’t wait to get back to being a soldier who travels around the world where ever they are 1:15 needed in war zones doing what they signed up for. If a guard was out in full uniform that day they had to make sure any Brass or other metals is polished and polished so they could see there faces in them the same with the the guards boots and leather on the saddle which can take hours to get it highly polished. The same with the sword it’s another polish till they can see there face all this cleaning is really hard work and can take hours to do. If something happened the guards horses are not there to stop trouble they are taken back inside the grounds if a protest is going past them so they don’t get scared. The Sword is also just for show it’s part of the dress uniform and also a link to how it was the everyday uniform back in history and they could use the sword in there days. Now when you are watching these videos you will notice it’s the armed police officers who are there to protect the Public and the mounted guards I would think also the soldiers in there normal uniform the khaki ones would come out from behind the Scenes with there rifles if the police needed help. I’m glad they have added Do Not Touch The Reins to the two notices as now people will know not to touch them and there is no excuse now saying they didn’t know and most foreign visitors are on a walk about tour and there guide should be telling them not touch the reins But the people who video the guards continuously would be upset if people stopped touching the reins as that’s the main selling point for people to look at there really long videos with maybe 1 or 2 minutes of a guard shouting don’t touch the reins etc I often wonder if they get some sort of payment for people watching their long videos when really they just need to last no more than 5 mins. They can’t stand all day filming for nothing. Some people do have special needs and might need things explaining a couple of times to them. And not being followed around by people who are making these videos and them then going to the police to tell them what they think has been going on and saying they have it recorded if they need to see it I know the videos are very popular but hats off to them. I would be Bored Standing all day every day The Guards must get sick of looking down the same lens everyday. But if you find the videos really entertaining have a great time watching them. There is some really good ones

@j.ksmith7432
11 ай бұрын
They’re Irish Draught or IDx’s, they’re mainly sourced from Southern Ireland as are The Household Cavalry horses, but luckily they’re looking for different types otherwise there may not be enough to go round! 🙂 Whereas the H/CAV require the biggest, strongest and blackest the Kings Troop RHA are looking for athleticism, strength and speed because they generally perform the musical drive in an arena so the horses need to be pretty nippy in manoeuvring the guns at such speeds, the gun carriages need six horses to pull them, generally two 16.hh as ‘leaders’ at the front of the team, two ‘middle’ horses of around 15.3hh and two ‘wheelers’ of around 15.2hh . Also the Kings Troop are not quite as fussy about colours, they’ll take light bays through to black. As the Kings Troop will be pulling the gun carriages their training is more involved than the Cavalry Horses as they have to learn to be driven as well as ridden, I can’t honestly remember but I seem to recall that because of this and the weight of the guns and gun carriages the horses are a little more mature than the Cavalry steeds!
