He is the first person to speak on Takeoff with some sense! I really respect Yella, but he is a street dude so he understands how these things can happen. Love how he’s not trying to blame Quavo! Yella has really matured! 💜

I won't lie, I haven't tuned in for a King Yella interview in a while. But I can tell from the way he's described his lifestyle of juggling adulthood and bills. He's doing well for himself now. He sounds more matured as well just for a state of mind also. I'm happy to hear and see that for him. We need more evolution and maturity in our urban culture.

Yeah...i wonder whether a bunch of "righteous" people can provide the same excitement as the blood thirsty version, plus all the talk, the newspaper articles etc. All the rappers from chicago learning and becoming civilized would dismantle Drill music, which is a good thing IMO

I have alot of respect for Yella. Dude has grown to be a real man. He had me lmao with that pregnant roach stuff. Sign of a real man is when he can laugh at himself. I was never a fan of his music but as a man, dude is cool as hell. He is positive and honest and The young ones need to listen to Yella, for real. Hes been through it, made it out and I'd be shocked if he went backwards with things. I wish him well as I do the rest of the human race.

I can't never get tired of seeing these guys that survive Chicago. The way they set up that city is crazy .. It's a blessing to see how much Yella and some of them make it out and succeed.. At the end of the day it's a whole world outside of Chicago and people can make it.. Your life is bigger than a project or public housing and you can survive if you apply your energy towards the right shit instead of the wrong shit anything is possible..I hope that one of these kids coming out of the project world wide see this energy in moving on with your life has it's up's and downs but you get to live a longer life without getting shot up or shot at everyday..#Living is better than dying young # Insurance is important if you are living in that life # lawyer is important if you are living that life as well

I’m from Chicago, grew up in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods. Chicago is bigger than the low income areas/projects. As much as I hate to admit it I never missed in with ppl that wasn’t in my economic class. Chicago is one of the wealthiest cities in the country yet O’BLOCK is what ppl judge the city from bc of media. I had to work in Parkway Gardens, otherwise known as O’BLOCK. I was stunned to observe the mentality in that area. What’s interesting to me is they invest their money in LV,Gucci, Amira, etc. They don’t wear the knock off’s they wear originals but live in the projects. The ladies hair is done, men dressed in expensive tracksuits, yet they don’t have anywhere of importance to go. There are a few that work, ‘do hair’, cna work nothing significant imo. Now not all of them are simple minded but at least 90 percent of them are. I love the magnificent mile, my childhood home, etc. More positive things need to be shown and discussed, not the ghetto gang banging mess.

Wild funny to hear about that rat story. I was in YTS before they walked me across street, rats used to slide under my cell door and nibble at my pack of soups, eat thru the wrapper and all, lol. Used to wake me up middle of night, I was so irritated with them bitches, I remember putting the pack of soups right in middle of floor, hopped on top bunk with a hard cover book and was trynna katch em slipping. Funny thinkin back on the shit now🤣🤣🤣 but also lets me realize, there is always brighter days ahead.
