Other youtube reviews have described the tire as very square unlike more rounded knobby tires, like say the Sherman's (Kenda 262), and not great for the road because the sides drop off abruptly, causing you to lose it when leaning the wheel over too far or making aggressive turns. I know you aren't a very aggressive rider on tarmac but would you imagine this to be true?
@Speedyfeetuk
2 жыл бұрын
Not experienced that at all, prefer if I think even more than the sherman tire. I have done road riding and turned at ~50km/h with no issues, but then again its not some weird sudden turn, so maybe in that instance it would be problematic? Not sure as I haven't found a situation where I need to do that style of riding.

Kinda funny how since this wheel has sidepads out the box then Ian actually gets to use them and he really likes them. When I hear him talk about how great they are, the rest of us are like: yeah! We know. Lmao. I know he probably uses sidepads regularly but it's fun to imagine he never used them before.

Great footage Ian, thanks. How have you got the suspension set? Do you adjust it before those large drops? Have you found the balance of the wheel an issue in really tight technical turns due to the amount of suspension weight hanging out the back of the wheel? It’s great to hear how much you enjoy the wheel, I really hope Kingsong use the feedback and address the issues, and continue to improve the wheel, be a shame if they just get focused on selling and stop the improvements.

Wearing reflective clothing is FAR more important than having a silly light on the back of your ride. I have to laugh at your drone. I feel like I am WAY out of date with that technology. I find it AMAZING that you can use an automated camera tracker drone like it's just "normal equipment". I am kinda blown away by it, and it sounds hilarious to me as you complain about it's imperfections, because that is AMAZING.

Because of the coil you must have a spring relating to your weight. At 13 stone, 83Kg is the spring about right, a bit firm, a bit weak? I don't do technical stuff, more road, or rough track.

Many thanks Ian, that is some serious mud and we really need wheels that can clear and cope with the trails we ride. Dry trails is fun but we have to deal with the mud and a tyre that clear is great. What tyre pressure are you running just to get an idea. Also would you mind checking how long it charges with the 5A and if you charge it with the 10A. Would be a good stat to have for people that want to get the wheel back up and going. One last question, the S18 does a good old wobble when you brake how does the S20 compare on the braking? Thanks again and we have to talk about trade in for this one. It really looks solid

Just hit me that Bruce is a very lucky dog. He gets loads of exercise unlike most of the fat lazy dog owners here in NA. He gets to run & run & run. Awesome. I get the need for pads things as being a (soon to be ex) owner of a S18, I have to crank & crank hard on it for any serious climbs. Meanwhile my bud who weighs 70lb more smokes me on his RSt. Which is why I'm gonna pass on this S20 for serious offroad. I'm a selling my S18 for an incoming RSt. Suspension is nice but I can get over that with body prep. Power (or torque in this case) can't be had if it ain't there in the beginning. But it does seem like a decent wheel for the average ride
@TechMan042
2 жыл бұрын
The specs of the wheel can handle more, and it's likely that based on feedback that KingSong may tweak the firmware to allow more torque. Instead of 50% or whatever for 3 meters, they could boost it to 70 or 80% and still have a safety margin
@pawelosinski83

Great video, can't wait next one 👍 You did here a real dirty job 😉 Can you tell something if that amount of mud has influence how suslension sliders work? Do you feel them to be "less smooth" or is the suspension harder due to more friction? Ate you going to inspect if batteries are not getting wet and if suspension rails are not damaged? Would be great to see that. Cheers!

As I watch you plow through those crazy English bogs and all that mud, the only thing I keep thinking is why KS though it was a good idea to place the charge ports directly in the line of fire. Seriously, do the charge port covers ever flop off under there whilst mudding around? And even if they stay in place, how much mud cakes up inside there and what’s it like trying to reach in there with the power cord and not jamming muck up into the ports when plugging in?

Any comment on battery fire hazard? I'm sure the bus, plane and train companies would be interested in this. If they won't allow the machine on board, it obviates a lot of the reason to buy.
@Speedyfeetuk
2 жыл бұрын
Never had a battery fire since 2014 until present day across any model we have imported, ridden or used. Batteries come with certifications and all wheels come with CE and MD certs. Regarding plane companies; limited to 100wh battery packs before having to declare DG (dangerous goods). Regarding Bus; not heard (UK) them not allowing them? Regarding trains, not heard (UK) them not allowing them? (Aside from London Underground)

The rear light doesn't turn on when you are riding straight? Or was it the flashing mode you showed?
@KevU85
2 жыл бұрын
He said it only shows up when breaking or turning if the headlights are off. If the headlights are on it flashes the taillight all the time and flashes the turn signals. It needs an option for flashing rear without headlights on. Turn signals are pointless on EUCs. Telling people you're turning while you're already physically turning is pointless. Turn signals are meant to be used as an indication of intention for a turn you haven't started yet to let people know what to expect.
