It’s a New Year and a new bit of Kirby knowledge to start it off. A great tip to know about, especially since more & more vacuum repair shops are closing down. This is the only channel you’ll ever need to maintaining your Kirby vacuum. Thanks KE.

How fierce does the clutch have to be when the wheels touch the carpet/surface? Should you be able to stop it at all both forward and reverse? or does pressure actually stop it when it touches the surface?

We still have the Kirby my parents bought in the late 70s, still works great. I remember watching the salesman show all the attachments it was the coolest thing at the time.

That’s awesome, I still remember my moms demo when they bought the Heritage 2 . I was like wow , I’m never going to buy anything but a Kirby . My mom still uses her Kirby H2 even now and her carpets look as new as they did back in 1987. My G4 I bought in 1994 and still runs a dream . Thanks for supporting my channel really appreciated 👍👍

Same for me in 1970 with my folks classic. The salesman said it could do almost anything. I too loved scraping out the bag (then) not now. LOL

I am a Kirby Enthusiast myself and have used Kirby's since Heritage 2. I currently own the Avalir 100th ed model and am trying to figure out why when using on carpet the transmission/tech drive seems to slip and make a clicking sound every once in awhile. I have even changed out the transmission with one from a Sentria and have the same result. When pushing the vacuum in neutral the transmission is silent so the cam assembly is working correctly. Like I said it happens every once in a while an audible click and I can feel like the transmission misses or slips. Is this normal? Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I fixed the shop Kirby switch. Now, it doesn't have the forward gear. Neutral, and reverse only. If it was me, I'd leave it in neutral. But, the boss has other ideas. What did I do wrong?
