Hello ! This video identifies the problem with Thorium moten salt reactor: alongside checmcal processing. The molten salt is highly dangerous as a had gamma emitter; this makes the alongside reprocessing facility extremely hazardous, especiallt in an event of an accident.

That's why you don't have people doing the reprocessing. Get machines to do it. That hard gamma emitter you are talking about, u232, is the reason thorium reactors don't make good bomb-making machines

I can not but agree with Kirk, engineers be ashamed if you weren't excited about the pluto fly by!

Wonder how he feels about the IFR. It seems that he gave it short thrift.

How can this design be approved if isolating weapons grade U-233 is part of the design? Removing protactinium-234 and allowing it to decay will produce weapons grade U-233

U232 is contaminated by u232 to varying degrees depending on how you make the reactor. No matter what, you will generate some of it though any of there separate parasitic n,2n reactions. U232 is very radioactive, giving off gamma rays, and makes it exceedingly difficult to make a bomb.
