Why do some idiots think Shatner was a bad actor? He is a wonderful actor. May he live to 100.
@givmi_more_w9251

His performance is over the top sometimes, but that's due to his theater background. Patrick Stewart could also be very pompous at times, although not as exaggerated. I think most of the hate is because he is a strong personality who does not give a single shit whether he offends people or not, and alone for that, I cannot not like him. Some of Shatner's moments make me cringe, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he brought James Kirk to life. He is entertaining, and has some hilarious 'WTF' expressions.

Me too. It was so beautiful, my father used to say, so many nations and people from other planets reunited in that ship to discover other worlds. And he said he was hoping for that to become real. The first program to have the beautiful Lt. Uhura, Nichelle Nichols was the first black American woman to be in a cast with only white actors. Doesn´t that tell you a lot?

The whole death and funeral scene, both Shatner and Nimoy should won an Academy Award for. I was fortunate to see the Wrath of Khan on opening night in the theater, people were bawling their eyes out. I don't think that there was a dry eye anywhere in that packed place. Two of the greatest actors of our time.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". There two things that make this untrue. First, it is not Logic that would 'dictate' this claim; Logic has virtually nothing to do with with personal morality or with any ethical collective. Second, the on- going state of any civilization makes this claim either grossly mismanaged or completely inaccurate, or simply patently untrue.

The Voyage Home and The Final Frontier were such unpleasant movies with all the profanity which was so unnecessary and did not reflect the characters as they were played on the original Star Trek series. The passage of time still would not allow them to start using profanity. They would have immediately recognized that type of speech, at least the more serious profanity, as inappropriate.

Spock was physically resurrected and his mind was restored from another's body. He reeducated himself in the Vulcan manner while integrating a human personality. He expressed himself almost as a child with a new mind. They were just words. Lighten up. We probably couldn't understand 23rd century profanity, humans have oaths. Profanity was used, sparingly, in the original series.
