@@ImperialRadioYT Not a huge fan of the band anymore after listening to Paul rag on everyone publicly like he did, but to say they barely had it 40 years ago is flat-out ignorant. Granted, all their best work was done in the mid-70's, but they're concerts were still among the best throughout the 80's. KISS pretty much pioneered the entire genre of rock bands throughout the 80's and 90's and even some in the 70's like Van Halen. I'd hate to imagine the rock world if KISS never existed. I have to wonder how old you are, because I have noticed with each generation, people don't seem to realize the world existed long before them without many of the things that exist today. Youngsters today do not understand historical context. When KISS hit the scene, their style of rock was unheard of. Bands like Motley Crue, RATT, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, and so many more would not have been what they were without KISS. I do understand the sentiment, regarding the actual skill level of their playing- it's pretty mediocre and probably overrated among fans. I feel the same way about The Beatles who were only as big as they were, because they were pioneers and unlike anything else in their time. The difference is, if KISS came out today and all their hits were new, it'd probably still be relevant. The Beatles probably wouldn't sell a record if they came out with their stuff today.

I'd challenge anyone 50+ to put on leather, a heavy costume (like Gene), seven inch heels, snatch up a guitar, move around under hot lights for two hours and maintain not only your stamina but be completely entertaining doing it! Look, man . . . .KISS were never the best musicians nor were they ever the greatest songwriters but what they did is produce good, fun rock and roll and have been doing it for over 47 years! I give them a lot of credit for doing what they're doing, but that's the problem isn't it? What they're doing is not necessary the most musical thing in the world. At this point in time, it's going to be the same thing with the stadium tour. Really the only band is going to come close to sounding like musicians might be Def Leppard. It's a psychological thing where people are going to try to recapture that thing that happened when they were growing up and so forth and so on. And that's admirable and there's a place in time for that and every generation has that. I just could not sit through all of that facade and all the fake guitar and drum tracks just to watch a bunch of old guys you know stand in front or behind of the pyro so forth or so on. But the physical stamina is amazing and I give them all the credit in the world for giving people what they want and that's the important thing at the end of the day. Millions and millions of human beings still enjoy going to see them and if it brightens up their day especially in this politically charged madness, hands off to Kiss for being Patriots and doing their role as well.

Was at the ANAHEIM outdoor show extravaganza 1977 fireworks the whole enchilada USHERS were piling into the bleachers to calm down the crowd who were screaming and stamping their feet as the stadium was shaking dangerously up and down. My friends thought it was going to collapse. Haha PAUL was kicking ass not like this geriatric exhibition. The destroyer costumes were being worn and ACE had the rockets and upgrade smoking guitar bit. The tour booklet was buff the back cover read THE DREAM LIVES... kiss was hitting their stride with all systems on afterburner. Kisstory that night for sure.

Guitars have been tuned down for Paul's failed voice and the songs just don't sound right. Way beyond the time to hang it up . There are tribute bands who sound much better at 1/4 of the cost.

I have no idea why KISS is still touring, but they sound great. I was lucky enough to have seen them in 1986 and they burned the house down. That said, KISS is in their 70's (Presently Paul is 69), Find me another band still playing iconic music and you'll see the same sort of things you stated. They still play better than most bands, they don't use auto-tuners, and still play their own instruments. Those are all accomplishments in my book. Proud member KISS Army 1977

I saw their "Farewell Tour" in Austin at the Erwin Center in 2000. I was tired of it after a few songs. Paul was shaking his ass too much. It was a show for chicks. The best part was Ted Nugent opening.

Was lucky enough to see this tour in March 2020 right before the shutdown. Yes they are old and slow. Gene actually sings better than Paul, but it's still Kiss. I bought Destroyer and Alive in 76 when I was 12. That was life changing. I liked the retrospective set list. Lots of stuff of Alive and some 80s. Thank you Kiss.
