Went camping on this river when I was like 8, 40 years ago. Right in front of the campground we swam in the water. Actually swam in front of the campground. Went out on a John boat fishing with my older cousin, we were throwing them those Vienna sausages, all of a sudden they were like 20 of those damn things around the boat, like 3,4 big ones. Was fascinated then, after watching your video realize I’m luck to be alive.

How are you not terrified at the thought of crashing/wiping out with that many Gators every turn? I live in Orlando so I'm familiar with Gators. There's just way too many to even think about trying to scramble back into the boat if you fell off. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yea when I was a kid in Miami in the 70's there was not nearly as many gators as we see in Florida today, for that matter hogs either. I learned to water ski on Levy 67 in the glades and we used to ride our john boats out to Franks fish camp on Chrome avenue and the Trail. Dragging them across Bird road to hit the canal on 117 ave and ride it up to the Tamiami Trail past the Lehigh cement plan. These animals have infested the waterways. We really should lean into better management. They are EVERYWHERE.

For some insane reason, the federal government thinks gators are still in need of protection that state game laws won’t provide. Gators are everywhere in Florida, but your federal tax dollars continue to be spent to protect them. Once the federal government gets involved, they never let go.

It’s interesting to see most of the alligators trying to quickly and aggressively swim towards you. They’re not startled whatsoever by your size, speed and noise. I guess they see a meal.
@visiontranscend60

The alligators wouldn't see this event as a meal. They were clearly startled by the machinery and got in the water to swim away.

While it may look like the alligators were sliding into the water to chase him, it is actually far more likely that they are much more afraid of him than he is of them (or we are for him). Alligators (and most crocodilians in general) feel most in their element when they are submerged in the water, and contrastingly feel most vulnerable when out in the open on land. That being said, doing this on the Kissimmee River in Florida with American alligators is one thing (with some minor risks involved), but doing this at Cahill's Crossing in northern Australia with saltwater crocodiles would be taking a much more serious gamble with your life.
