One regiment I'd like to see is the Mordan Acid-dogs, a regiment that hails from a night world near to Cadia that produced the strongest acid in the Imperium. They are incredibly effective in subterranium and hive city warzones due to their underground upbringings, and specialise in the removal of mutants. Due to the close quarters they are often sent to, most regiments will be equipped with flamers. However, Acid-dogs are trained to be able to use every available weapon in the gaurd as a byproduct of scrounging from the minitorum and taking trophy weapons from fallen enemies. Their wargear is similar to that of cadia due to proximity, but has slight cosmetic differences (helmets are fitted with vision enhancement gear, fatigues are either short or have no sleeves and uniforms colors are a green/grey rather than tan.)

So there is a really interesting distinction between abhumans and mutants in the Imperium. Generally speaking mutants are killed on sight or are pressed into menial labor gangs, where as abhumans are tolerated but still looked down upon. The major difference is that abhumans are "genetically stable", such as ogryn, ratlings, or beastmen in that each generation of the abhuman species will look pretty much like the one before it. Where as a mutant will have wildly different mutations from their parents. Saying all that, the Imperium generally draws the line at horns and hoofs. Which is partially why in the lore for this beastman, I envisioned him as part of a chaos horde, not an IG regiment!

Plenty of Sabbat Worlds Crusade options to choose from for sure, be they Vitrian Dragoons, Jantine Patricians, Volpone Bluebloods, or even the slag worker irregulars who fought in defense of Vervunhive on Verghast. Terrax Guard, Harakoni Warhawks, and Kanak Skulltakers would also be interesting ones to throw in as ideas: - Terrax is the site of a major Schola Progenium facility, and the Guard regiments raised there are trained under its auspices to the point of resembling an army of commissars. - Harakon is a low-gravity hive world, and its inhabitants are well-accustomed to heights and shifting air currents such that the Warhawks are often deployed as heavy drop troops (official artwork for them certainly paints the impression of them routinely performing High-Altitude Low-Oxygen jumps). - As one of many sources of "feral" Guard regiments, Kanak is home to many barbarian tribes, some of which are closer to Ogryn than human.

What I really like most here is all 5 of these are practical to scale into a large force, so many of the youtubers doing kitbashs for random guard regiments base them off character models, or single peice per kit heads that you'd need for the whole army (usually from a third box set) making them impractically expensive, these are great, fairly easy, nice results and even the single kit peice you used was an easy sub from multipule sources. Really liked the Afriel strain trooper, captures the original conversion really nicely and the space nam armour is a great fit, extra bags and pouches if you spares run low are an easy source from say Anvil, which is a route I may go if I do them for the arms and weapons just to add those attachements that really show off their mysterious backers money at work

Quick note: The Imperial Guard regiments don't just use lasguns as their standard issue. They also, or unless the lore has been trampled on again, at least used to have regiments armed with autoguns as their standard weapon. These autoguns are bullet shooting equipment of various differing designs you'll often see the bad guy factions wielding. It's understandable for people not to know this due to just the bad guys having them in plentiful supply, but all I'm getting at here is that you can totally just run the spacenam standard guns as they are. Your choice of course, but personally I like the more hard-bitten regiments to wield autoguns for their rougher look.

Oh for sure and hopefully I didn't come across that all guardsmen needed to have las guns. I left the penal legionnaire's standard for a reason. Thank you! I prefer the more weathered/gritty look of the grimdark crowd, but I also really like bright super saturated and interesting colors as well. I also don't have a ton of time to paint + edit videos these days, so I try to go with quicker schemes that I am still happy to put on the tabletop!

Is it just me being annoyed by the designation 'regiments'? What we actually talk about is armies as in the general military designation, not the actual unit designation regiments - I feel that if humanity just fielded 'regiments' the imperium of man would soon be gone... But that's life I guess when people who have no clue about something tries to do something with it: 'ok, Jarvis, humanity's miltary, what do we do?' 'Well, there are regiments...' 'That's bloody brilliant!' Write that down so we can go get a pint or five at the pub.'

My project: convert the Imperial Nobility Bloodbowl Team. I have only 10 by now and that's not even a full unit nowadays 😂 Painting is gonna be a nightmare.

Brontean Longknives, maybe? IDK, I just have a weakness for space soldiers using big sharp bits of metal instead of guns as their main weapon! No, Catachans are not my favourite famous regiment, weirdly.

Really nice job, I liked expecially the two later conversions, the albino skin could be used also for humans from a dayless planet or similar. Making an army of these could be an interesting variation of the classic IG, perhaps some survivors that are trying to know who killed their brethren. Plus, with WGA making the new The Damned boxed sets you could try to make more conversions.

Sabbot World regements would be awesome! Theres an art book out there (maybe you can find a pdf?) that has some amazing illistrations that are well good inspiration :) Great vid btw, every single regement was new to me :D

I have seen the Spacenam kit in my local store but did not buy it because I thought it to much catachan jungle type. But seeing you use them I know that I want to get a box myself. The kitbashes look great!

That was really cool! I'd love to see some 2nd/3rd War for Armageddon regiments done up, but I also think it would be super fun to take the giant black and white 2-page collection of all sorts of different IG regiments, some of them getting models over the years, most of them not, and seeing you kitbash Those together!

Really like the beastmen traitor guard. I loved the penal legion, but I don't think I could ever make myself sit down and do all those chains for a full squad.

Of all stuff you show here the death metal dude is the most unique regiment BY FAR, he just need a more ragged base model and you got something good going. The rest is stuff that had been done to death. About the kit, no catachan model was ever done right until the inquisitorial kill that made one identical to the OG concept art. Complete with their fabled glaives and cranial plating.

Thank! One of my favorite parts of older editions was how much room there was to make your own regiments, and how encouraged it was by GW. I feel thats changed pretty dramatically in the recent years thoufh.

FYI for anyone who doesn't know the base files/range is actually from an independent designer "Reptilian Overlords" he's has more of this style including full heavy weapons team's. Note though he obviously just sells the digital STL files. There's some authorised printer's but the main thing to be aware of is he's got a consistent scale for his minis so his parts should fit Wargame Atlantic plastic models. 👌

@@AmnioticlyTanked if he hasn't already put it up there's command squad's etc on the go. The one area I asked for but he mentioned might NOT be in the pipeline soon is count's as heavy infantry/storm troopers or what ever GW calls the glory boys these days.

Thank you so much! I also don't really touch 3d printing myself due to an apparent allergic reaction to the resin, so its awesome that you were able to work with WGA to put out such an awesome kit; Im looking forward to the damned as well. Any hope of getting some of your other bits out in either SioCast or Resin? There are some heads I'd love to get my hands on for some kit bashes

Nice conversions all round, from a very versatile base kit. My favorite was the beastmen and I am looking at adding to my Victoria miniatures beastmen with some conversions of my own, in order to field a necromunda beastman gang.
