Awesome!! - Thank you! The vid and instructions covered our range perfectly and allowed me to use my handyman skills to successfully do the job. A couple tips: 1) Be prepared with a right angle screw driver for the cook top screw on the left after raising the cook top. I used a 1/4" drive ratchet wrench with a Philips bit. 2) I took a couple pics, at different angles, of the "gasket" [which is weather stripping], so I could put it on the new part correctly - it is not fully intuitive. Also be careful peeling it off the old part, and I still had to add a thin strip of tape where the gasket's sticky wasn't sticky anymore - but be careful NOT to cover the motor vent holes. Thanks again!!! (Oh/PS: After installation, I had to reset the range by turning off the circuit breaker for a minute, otherwise the error remains. I also used the vid's instructions [cancel; cancel; start; timer] to run the fan for awhile to break it in, so the range didn't complain again at me.)

Thx you .. this worked perfectly.. when I took the cover off the sensor assembly I was so surprised the sensor could even read the rotation because the plastic slits where covered 30% with the white plastic. Cleaned the area off and no more fault code .. Thx you

Try cleaning and lubricating the brass bushing on the blower before spending hundreds on a replacement! It worked for me.

Think I’ll try to clean mine up. Do you use 3and1 oil for the bushings? Is yours still working? Any other tips? Thanks

Good video. I didn’t have to disconnect my gas valve lines to get to the vent blower. Just loosen the burner lines and have a helper carefully hold them up.

Glad to help. Seen a couple of yours. Good luck in your endeavors. Error codes can help you or confuse you. You will see the more you get into these. They generally point you in the right direction. They work best when customer think there is a problem and you show them there are no error codes, they kind of sort of believe you afterwards.

Funny thing is when I put mine in diagnosis mode It turns on the bake element in the oven. All of a sudden I started to feel the oven getting hot. 😬

We have the stove ksgg700ess1 and the technician told us we needed to replace the cooling fan. We paid him to do it and it still does the same error code F8E0. I put it in test mode and the oven turns on and the fan is working but as soon as we take it off test mode it give F8E0. The technician said its the control board now but I don't know if I trust them because they were wrong the first time and didn't really do much troubleshooting besides trying to turn the oven on. Do you think the control board would fix it.

If that new fan came with a new tachometer or hall sensor than I would agree that you need a new board. If you had to swap over the tachometer to the new one it could be the tach that is bad. All depends on what the guy installed. If it were me I wouldn’t charge you for the fan you didn’t need. I call that the cost of training lol. Love and you learn when it comes to these new appliance lol.

I have replaced the cooling fan with a new one. It started working and the oven heated up slightly and then it went back to the same error code F8E0. What could be the problem?

Have you ever come across an oven that reaches its temperature, but then it keeps going above the temperature desired, and the bake element stays red hot? On a kitchenaid

Is this stove electric or gas? It looks like electric but can’t be sure. I don’t think you can get by with just lifting that cooktop like that on a gas range, but I hope I am wrong.

Yeah this one is electric. I do believe the gas ones are tougher to do. I can’t remember if I hav me had to swap one out of a gas range before. Let us know if it’s similar. I’m curious.

Bearded Appliance Repair mine is not just gas, but also downdraft so it is probably about as complicated as it gets. I will need to detach the exhaust fan before I can move the stove out from the wall. Fortunately I can mostly remember installing it 4 years ago, and I found a video showing the exhaust fan installation to help me. And I found a video on changing the cooling blower on a non-downdraft gas Kitchen Aid, so I will be okay once the part arrives. Yes, there is more to remove on the gas models to access the fan. I get the impression that this cooling fan is not as reliable as it could be.

Oh man I feel for you my friend. With the downdraft they may even have the fan in a different location. Hopefully they do anyways lol. That would make your life easier if it’s on the back instead. If it’s in the same position as this one I would consider calling someone lol.

Bearded Appliance Repair the parts drawings show it in the same place. Unless it is warranty work, it’s against my nature to call someone for appliances, outboard motors, or lawn mowers. I’ve got this.

You sound like me lol. I like to do everything myself as well. Only time I have called someone for repairs on my home is for a roof leak. Everything else I’ve done myself. You save some money and in most cases it’s fun at the same time. Good luck though :)

I suspect these fans fail prematurely if the owners leave the door open during the cool-down period. Fans like this are not meant to ingest hot air and when the door is open, it will do just that.
