In this vlog, you are going to watch ammavin kaimananathil 3 types of Podi's preparation, ELLU PODI - PARUPPU PODI - IDLI MAILAGAI PODI........
INGREDIENTS & PREPARATION METHODS:
(Hint: Measuring cup its your option)
(I) ELLU PODI - SEASAME POWDER:
1. Black Seasame Seeds - Karupu Ellu - 1 Cup
2. Urad Dal - Ullatham Paruppu - 1/2 Cup
3. Red Chillies - Sigapu Milagai - 1/2 cup / 10 Nos
4. Asafoetida - Perungayam - 1 T.Spoon
5. Salt - Uppu - Add to taste
Method:
1. First heat the pan in sim flame, then dry fry the required black seasame
and once its fried keep it aside in a plate
2. now add urad dal and red chillies and dry fry it together
3. once its fried means turn off the stove and now add asafoetedia and salt to it
4. now mix all this together and grind it into semi coarse powder
Ready to taste it with Idli or Dosa or you can prepare talipu and now mix 2 spoons of this powder with white rice
and temperings of talipu
(II) PARUPPU PODI - DAL POWDER:
1. Bengal Gram Dal - Kadalai Paruppu - 1 Cup
2. Toor Dal - Thoorvaram Paruppu - 2 Cup
3. Red Chillies - Sigapu Milagai - 1/2 cup / 8 Nos
4. Asafoetida - Perungayam - 1 T.Spoon
5. Salt - Uppu - Add to taste
6. Black Pepper Bells - just 6-10 nos
Method:
1. First heat the pan in sim flame, then dry fry the required BengalGram Dal - Toor Dal - Redchillies
and once its fried keep it aside in a plate
2. now add asafoetedia and salt to it
3. mix all this together and allow it cool for 5 minutes
4. grind it into well as soft powder
Ready to Taste with Hot Rice and Ghee
(III) IDLI MILAGAI PODI - CHILLI POWDER:
1. Bengal Gram Dal - Kadalai Paruppu - 1 Cup
2. Urad Dal - Ullatham Paruppu - 2 Cup
3. Red Chillies - Sigapu Milagai - 1 cup / 15 Nos
4. Asafoetida - Perungayam - 1 T.Spoon
5. Salt - Uppu - Add to taste
6. Gingelly Oil - Nallennai - 2 T.Spoons
Method:
1. First heat the pan in sim flame, pour 2 TS of oil to it and then add urad dal to fry and once its fried keep it
side in a plate
2. In the pan bengalgram dal and redchillies and fry it consistently when its fully fried then add this with urad dal
3. Now add asafoetedia and salt to it
3. mix all this together and allow it cool for 5 minutes
4. grind it into well as semi coarse powder
.
