Solutions for "Stuck Key" error. Replacing the glued on button control, membrane switch
If you are having problems with the button control not responding on Whirlpool/Kitchenaid gas stove. Here are several easy options:
1) Unplug the stove or turn off the main electric power line to the stove for 1 minute. Re-connect the electricity, return to the stove and press the following keys in this order " Off" "Off" "Start" "Clock Set"
2) If the touchpad system does not reset using option 1 try replacing the switch membrane to solve your appliance problem.
Tools you need this repair/replacement:
1) #2 Philips Screw Driver
2) Rubbing alcohol
3) Towel for cleaning the surface
Get model-specific repair. Try contacting the company for troubleshooting and possible other solutions or parts that may be under warranty. If you have diagnosed that you need to replace the touchpad panel you can use this video. This was an easy and quick fix for me, so if you are willing to take a risk of changing the part yourself and you trust your skills for minimal work, this could be an easy fix for you as well.
