Jon is the real deal. I moved to Jupiter 3 years ago and saw him ripping the backs out of chest high shore pound on a kite - on a day nobody else was riding. He is a wizard level rider, don’t let his humility fool you. More importantly, I’ve never had a conversation with him that didn’t involve talking about making things better. Doesn’t matter if it’s gear, safety, events, he’s hyper focused on moving all areas of water sports forward. Great conversation 🤙

be curious to know why Pete Cabrinha seems to have been systematically erased from the brand, the website even the legacy “about us” page

Some business gone wrong I guess... oops. Pete was never the founder tho, but yeah there from the start and used his name.

Ruben is ridiculously great as an interviewer! I'd love to see him interview the promising groms, the seasoned vets, and the mythical legends. Name drop: Leonardo Casati Andrea Principi Tom Bridge Giel Vlugt Liam Whaley Airton Cozzolino Kevin Langeree Sam Light Nick Jacobsen Aaron Hadlow Johnny Heineken Damien LeRoy Alex Caizergues Rob Douglas Hans Lieben and Alexander Morgenstern Robby Naish Pete Cabrinha Shannon Best Jeff and Tony Logosz Lou Wainman ...

Great interview, nice podcast keep making some new ones. Cabrinha kites looks good but seems that need some brand image change for at least in my country.

Thanks, more to come... who and what would you love to see in the next one? Yeah Cab had some issues in some countries but ready to fire again over the next years.

Great Podcast Ruben. Really nice to hear the passion Jon has for the sport and Cabrinha. Great to hear how strong the family mindset is within Cabrinha. Always loved my Switchblades and Now My Nitros and the Moto X. Keep up the great work guys.😁

Great podcast, folks! Unrelated question I've had on my mind for a bit. Could it be an option for Kitemana become the main sponsor of an active athlete, like e.g. Jamie Overbeek? Seems like having the freedom to choose from any gear can have great advantages in competition, plus it could be a great marketing opportunity for KM. (I have no clue about the financial side of things of course)

Great podcast and I have had Cab products for over 10 years, Drifters mostly. Unfortunately the quality issues made me move away and customer service was bad. My guess is that financially the new Cab has been on shaky grounds which affects all areas of business. Need deep pockets which the big guys like Duotone just have. After trying s new Pivot I am moving to Nvisons now, much more sporty and not for everyone but local support, Sound owners in Europe just make it a better choice.

Sorry to hear you had some quality issues, and for customer service you could've ordered through us and get that sorted. Running a company in such a rather small industry is risky for sure. Glad you found a kite you like. Rock it. Cheers.

great brand but not shinning since many years. question: where is the founder Pete Cabrinha ?
@Kitemana

It depends where you look... great products, design and a lot of people have Cabrinha kites. The company has gone through some changes and faced some challenges so therefor not always smooth sailing. It takes hard work to maintain GREAT. They on it again tho. Pete was never the founder, just used his name in the beginning and then it blew up.
