Totally agree ..... a very enjoyable episode of the great build. Loved the detailed work on engine and how it turned out. Super excited to see next turn in the story ...... ✌👍

Hello my fellow model maker I love your channel and your videos, the way you explain things is perfect. I only have one question, where do you get that long tool you use for filling please? I want to get one :)
@scalemodellingmadness4114

Hey there fellow model maker :) The tool I am using is Tamiya's paint stirrer. You can get it online from several stores, if you don't have a hobby shop near you. To be honest, its a convenient tool but not really essential, I mean a cocktail stick (toothpick) works as well. But if you want to but one, I guess you will find one easily online :) I got mine from a hobby store. Here's one link on amazon that you can use : www.amazon.com/Paint-Stirrer-Pack-Tools-Tamiya/dp/B000BMV0HE Hope that helps :)

can you giv some info on that filler please? is it only for seams?
@scalemodellingmadness4114

Hi Gary. The filler I am using is Liquitex Professional modeling paste. It is a water soluble putty. Dries in a few hours if not too deep. I have not had any noticeable shrinkage with it. I have only used it for filling seams and narrow gaps, but I believe its original purpose is to sculpt models. It is much cheaper than branded putty for modelling. Hope that helps :)

Looks fantastic. Do you recommend this kit for someone with moderate skill level?
@scalemodellingmadness4114

Hey Ryan thanks. I would suggest that one should have some experience in handling photo etch parts, as well as a large kit with a lot of parts. On the plus side, the kit does go together relatively easily for a kit this size and there is minimal putty and sanding. So, if one has a few kits under their belt I would say go for it :)

Hey Rayan, there appears to be an excellent 1/35 Viper kit out from Academy. I have not purchased it myself yet, but I have gone through a few reviews and it appears to a very good kit. It also seems to have a better fit than Kitty Hawk here. However, I don't think it has open engine option. Anyway, you should check that kit out as well :)

Looks great so far, but I do feel the need to nitpick a bit. I know artistic licence comes into play. However in the engine section, for example, what you were calling wires are actually tubes. Some for carrying hot air to anti-icing valves etc and other carrying cooling air and fuel( both pressure and scavenge). If you would have added more bends and wires to make it look more complex the realism would have vanished.Also the exhaust section is the wrong blue. In all my years working on helicopters, I've never seen one turn that shade even after thousands of hours of run time, lol. If you wanted a more complex engine area, you could have used wrapping wire to create harnesses and been more in scale. All my crap aside, it's still a great looking bird and keep up the good work. I didn't mean to be a rivet counter or anything, just trying to pass on a bit of info :D

Thanks Randy. Let's be honest....it's apparent that my knowledge of helicopters is dismal...lol. Not that my understanding of fixed wing aircraft is stellar, but it's still better than helicopters. So, any piece of advise and information is more than welcome. One of the primary reasons for starting a channel here was so that I could take advantage of the huge pool of knowledge amongst fellow enthusiasts. And in all honesty I appreciate informed criticism....if I can keep some of these points in mind when I build my next kit...it will only make me a better modeller....so win win :). As for the grey blue on the engine..he he he....so, ok....the correct colour was a rather boring grey with bronze/copper highlights (at least in several pictures I saw online), I honestly thought about doing that, but then my creative self took over and I decided to add some variation....hence the light blue grey....lol....guilty as charged :) but thanks for your comment and please feel free to add to it.

It is amazing how little the engine supplied with the kit actually resembles the General Electric T700-GE-401C turboshaft engine used in this aircraft. This is what the engine looks like: drive.google.com/file/d/1qPQx3o7inF1b-LjPYUoclcb7alMP6aT1/view?usp=sharing
