@@MORGANSMaintenance I agree with not using a 1/4 impact on those huge sockets. I also agree that Klein needs to sell just the adapters. I want to see an adapter for the 11-1 ratchet screw driver.

I really hope Klein sells that 1/4" adapter in the 65238 kit separately at some point (Klein... are you watching this?). Sure would be a handy add-on and should have come with the 65329 kit. It even looks like there is a small tray spot for it. (BTW... You got lucky with the price, the set is back up at $99 now)

Yeah someone mentioned that about the price. The cheaper seller probably sold out, it may go back down if he gets them in stock again.

5:30 this is the biggest issue right here! I don’t want to use an adapter like 7:22… I want an adapter with the shaft of 6:56 and the tool end of 2:23! Why not Klein!!?? I really want this to be the perfect kit for my 3/8 impact wrench. It really irks me that they make such innovative useful tools yet constantly limit them in some small way like this. They also must sell these adapters separately!! They will break, they will be misplaced, and they will be used with multiple tools at once. It completely unacceptable for a $100 kit to become waist if anything happens to the adapter it comes with. Also waist to have to spend a bunch more for another kit just for one adapter!

They make impact adapters that go from 1/4" hex bit drive to 1/2" square drive, so I would have thought that it would be okay as you would be limited by the power of the impact driver. Going from a 3/8" drive impact gun to the 1/4" hex bit would probably be more prone to breakage.
@MORGANSMaintenance
5 ай бұрын
Yeah I think so. I probably won’t ever use these on the 3/8 Stubby like I showed. Any of them in any configuration, just for the sake of breaking an adapter I can’t replace at the moment. I more so was interested in trying to figure out ways to use on 1/4 and 3/8 ratchets as that is more likely what I will use them for. I will probably also use in my 1/4” impact, but not for extreme torque situation. Assembly type stuff mostly.

I would think any impact extension would work on the larger sockets that's way cheaper than replacing klein shafts for sure if you used this often. Man how many sockets can one have??? I use maybe 1/10th of my small collection it seems. I got a set of random super thin impact deep sockets and stacked them in a AA battery holder case and seems to get most of my use other than automotive use. At least the tool chest drawers look good and shiny 👍.

Yeah for those big ones that’s a good idea… I’m just going to keep this set in my drawers in the truck. It takes up a little less room than my big set.

There is no such thing as SAE wrenches or sockets. SAE is for the Society of Automotive Engineers and I have been a member for over 30 years. They do not specify tool dimensions. Just say "inch" rather than SAE. Over the years some have expressed the tool size as "AF" , meaning across flats of the hex.
@MORGANSMaintenance

That’s what the companies put on their packaging and what most people say.. if I say inch, I will get 1000 comments telling me it’s not inch.. it’s SAE 😂

Can you use a 3/8” drive 1/4” socket as an adapter from 3/8” square drive to 1/4” hex drive?
@MORGANSMaintenance
4 ай бұрын
You should be able to, the Klein Shafts for the 1/4" Stuff are regular 1/4" on one side and the Klein Spline on the other. That would let you use the smaller sizes on a 3/8 Ratchet

Joey, you are incorrect again, Milwaukee and a few other tool manufactures has an adapter that is 3/8" square female x 1/4" hex, allowing any 1/4" hex shaft to be inserted on a 3/8" male square drive ratchet or impact wrench.

😂. Yeah. I’m not sure why they didn’t give the 1/4 adapter… or if the shaft is supposed to be able to really hold up on a bigger socket… put the spline in all of them
