I just bought one. About the visor, there's enough material there to dremel another position. I did so and it dropped the front of the visor another 3/4" and doesn't interfere with the shields full up position.

Thank you for the review, this is a helmet that I have been strongly considering for the last several months. I'm a bit surprised at your comments about the ventilation as a lot of reviews indicate that the vetilation is very good. I have seen a review where it was indicated that the vetilation may be too good. I live in a hotter climate and really good vetilation is a must at times. Perhaps I will wait for the ECE 22.06 version to be introduced which may have improvements with the vents as well as other minor shortcomings. They indicate and out of stock status for Euro specific ECE helmets on their US webpage since they probably can no longer ship 22.05 helmets to Europe. Maybe that is an idication that an updated version is in the works, otherwise, they will lose out on Euro sales.

@@SigmaSheepdog important to point out, my experience is based on comparisons to other helmets that I've owned, or used. So my Arai RX7V for example, multiple adjustable vents & when wide open, plenty of air flow. I've also ridden Enduro using LS2 helmets & no issues there but that's because I was using goggles so ample airflow with no visor in place. My main point was, I was expecting more (regards ventilation) from a helmet at this price point, hope that comes across. Be interested to see a new version of this, can't see them ignoring the European market TBH

I love my Krios Pro three things I hate 1# My visor would make a squeaking noise in the wind. I made a 3D printed TPU spacer for the top mount position Fixed. 2# if the visor aluminum visor screws on the sides come loose its a PITA to get them back in the right spot. 3# my front upper pad mount is held in with double sided tape. After time in the heat the tape let loose. Had to Epoxy it permanently back in place.

The Klim Krios Pro is a $800 helmet after taxes. You would expect perfection in all aspects and it's almost there BUT the visor will NOT stay where you place it. Open it up a few notches for extra air, first little dip or bump in the road and SLAM down it comes! I love everything about this helmet except the hinge plates. They are very cheaply made. It makes me wonder if anyone that actually rides tests them?? It is a $800 helmet WT Actual F?!

same it's the best helmet in my rotation right now, but the price is not worth it for what it is, and it's over 1k USD after tax imports where I live zzZzz

@@TrooperTed sure, but there are more worse and better adventure helmets in this price segment. My favourites for next season are the Klim Krios and the Nexx X.Wed3. The Nexx is reported as very noisy. So I try to figure out whether Krios is better or worse. I like both helmets from standpoint of the other features. Unfortunately the next Klim dealer is 200km away and I don’t believe they will let me drive a round with an unpayed helmet to find the difference out by myself. 😅

New subscriber here. I recently purchased the Arai Tour X5 and did a review video on it but I thought I’d probably made the wrong decision and thought maybe I should have got one of these. I still keep looking at the Klim Krios Pro but having watched your video I’m a bit happier with my decision. My issue with the Arai is that my DJI Mic 2 literally touches my mouth. I think there maybe more room in this helmet to accommodate the mic. Great video buddy and very informative. Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻

@@theblackcountrybiker I've now also got the Mic 2 & mount it offset against the left cheekpad. It's not completely out of the way, you still know it's there, but it's not pressed against my mouth like when I'm wearing my Arai Chaser

@@TrooperTed thanks for that info buddy, that might sway me to sell my Arai and get the Klim. I really need to try one but no one near me has them in their shops so it would mean an online order and possible return it if it’s no better that the X5. 👍🏻

You bought it for the weight savings but would have liked them to add a bunch of extra things to it?

What extra things? All my main complaints could be addressed and the weight gain would be what? A a couple dozen grams?

Im no very convinced about the magnetic lock holding in a serious crash. Did they teally test that?
@TrooperTed

Given its passed both DOT (America) and ECE 22.5 (Europe) testing, I have as much confidence in it as my double D ring helmets. Fid lock have a list of their buckle types on their site and the only one rated for motorcycle use is the HOOK 25, which has a break load 3-4 times higher then their other buckle types. Every crash is different and no system is bulletproof (e.g. Rory Skinner in BSB had his helmet come off in a crash only a couple weeks ago) but I've had no qualms about the system. I hope that helps David, and while I have you, can I ask how the audio on the video was for you?

With the peak fitted, you'll definitely feel it/ hear it at motorway speeds but on the back roads it's absolutely fine. I'm sure it would be a better experience with the peak removed, but as I covered in the video, that's too fineky for me personally. Wind noise isn't terrible, but being a peaked adventure lid, you have to expect some noise. I never ride without good ear plugs & that helps massively

@@TrooperTed without being as brash, I also noticed that the audio is pretty quiet and I had to adjust my computer audio and external speakers to 100% to hear anything. For the lighting, maybe setup a shop light behind the camera that shines on you and the product :). good videos, keep it up!

Thanks @@rileyportwood9106 for the feedback, scratching my head that you too had audio issues, as I set the mic gain and normalized audio levels in post as I normally do, checked with a couple friends and audio sounded Ok to them? Will also look into better lighting 👍

I can hear the audio just fine, and there is nothing wrong with the lighting as I can see it no problem.
