What's interesting is that Torlek asks him, "What have you resigned yourself to?" It's like he can sense that Chang is going on some suicide mission. Which it was, sadly. For even if he had succeeded, the loyal, honorable, and dutiful warrior would've been gone. In its place would be a war mongering zealot. He will have become just like Melkor. And the saddest part of all this, is that he did it in the name of protecting Klingon culture and tradition. In the name of protecting and saving Klingon honor, he violated and threw away his own. This is the sad tragedy of General Chang.

He won't come out and say "I'm going to kill Gorkon and frame Kirk."

1:19 the moment you achieved the point of the game where you’d command those larger QuD ‘Insurrection’ destroyer class vessels in-game, it was a turning point in your destructive power from there on!!

Its kinda weird to see Chang as a positive (for a Klingon) character, nothing really points towards his treason and willingness to plunge the feds and the klingon empire into war again. Hes portrayed more like a hero in this game. At least for me.

I suppose he's something of a tragic hero. He's a warrior who has spent his entire life fighting for the Empire and preparing for a war with the Federation and has to face a future where he would be obsolete. A terrifying prospect for him.

Sadly, he believed that the only way to protect Klingon culture and tradition from Federation influence, was by breaking the very codes of conduct (The Heart of Virtue) that he and other Klingons have lived by all their lives. It's the "in order to save and protect it, I have to break and violate it" mentality.

This game did a lot to move Chang from just a villain to a tragic Well Intentioned Extremist / Magnificent Bastard.
