Awesome video, takes me back to the only time I flew in a Fokker product, an American F 100, OKC-DFW. I remember the oval windows and everything. We even took off without the flaps deployed (both the 70 and the 100 can do that). I have a photo of AA F 100s at ORD when I was there in 2003, great aircraft. Wish I had the chance to fly in it again but at least I got to once. Can't complain.

That is awesome you flew on the Fokker 100 with AA. You basically described my very first Fokker flight. I was about 7 years old when I flew the Fokker 28 with US Air. I remember the out-of-sync hum of SPEY engines and the oval windows. A couple years later I flew the US AIr F-100. When I became old enough to realize the significance of those planes I realized I would probably never set foot in another one again.

Once you are in the routine of your flight and connecting via different airports I would say that part didn't feel much different. What really struck me were the different airline liveries that we don't see regularly in the US and the colorful flight crew uniforms. Thanks for watching!

Never flew up back in an F28 or DC-9. I did though fly up back in a MD -80 SAS and it was interesting and quite noisy with that fan just behind your ear. I had some fairly wild flights in the old DC-9's . They were a pilot's aeroplane I am told . Best memories were leaning too far down the runway and peoples stuff hurtling down the aisle, a fairly steep descent around a very big cumulus cloud, his weather radar must have told him that it was not a good idea to go in it.Had some memorable flights in F28's too, gee they were a noisy beast from the outside

Beagle76 Sounds like you've had some awesome flight adventures. That F28 is even loud on the inside during taxi. I remember the base frequencies roaring inside from the idle speed.

I was lucky enough to have flown in the back of many of these old twins. Old DC-9's, F28's and BAC 1-11's. I'd have to say.....the BAC One-Eleven's seemed the loudest. Of course....sitting just in front of the wing on old TWA Boeing 707's in the 1970's...didn't seem much quieter either. lol

Nice takeoff at Runway 06-24 Kaagbaan, in southwest direction. Good to hear and see the engines. I have found the ventilation blowing sound a bit loud, when I flew the F70 as a passenger.
@LoveJT8D
10 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the ventilation can mask the sound of the engines a bit. I think it may depend how the pilots have the ventilation system set. During one of my flights on the 717 there was quite a present sound of air rushing through the vents. It wasn't until we were lined up on the runway that the airflow was cut and you could hear the engines clearly.

Awesome! Heading to EU next year. Gonna go to Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Sweden and possibly Norway too. I want to take the Cityjet RJ-85 to London from Dublin, then BA 767-300 to Amsterdam, KLM F-70 to Brussels, Brussels Airlines RJ-100 to Stockholm, and not sure what other aircraft I want to fly on but these are the special ones I will be coming over there for. All the aircraft I listed will all be retired by the end of 2017 so I want to get there before all of the interesting aircraft are gone and replaced with Vanilla 737s, A320s, CRJs, and Embraers.

As far as I know, the Fokker 70 is configured so that flaps are not required during takeoff. I'm sure certain flying conditions such as high elevation and hot weather would require flaps. Most of the F70 videos I have seen do not have the flaps deployed during takeoff.

I'm not familiar with the fokker. Does it have thrust reverse? I didn't hear the engines change pitch when he touched down. awesome video and how did you stay so still on the landing and takeoff?
@LoveJT8D
8 жыл бұрын
+Future pilot67 Fokker is a Dutch aircraft manufacturer. I believe the 70 does have reverse thrust. The type of engine is the Rolls Royce TAY series. For the camera I just hold it with a very tight grip and keep my whole body as still as I can :) Thanks for watching.
@RoRe10

+Future pilot67 Yes, they have thrust reverse if needed. Usually they only use idle reverse thrust. In case of a rejected takeoff, the procedure is to use full reverse thrust.

@LoveJT8D

The Fokker 70 has Rolls-Royce TAY engines which do have reverse thrust. I have seen a few KZitem videos where reverse was deployed on this aircraft model. My guess is given our airspeed and runway length the pilot didn't find a need for reverse thrust.
