Same situation here at my gym. I can't remember the last time I've seen someone deadlift or even squat (correctly) at my gym and everyone stares at me like i'm an idiot deadlifting.

It still boggles my mind all those years when I was a student at UW seattle how I was hassled when doing cleans just like in these videos and deadlifts too and I would be harassed constantly. I didnt hurt the floor or do any damage. What is it with the moron gyms and mentality in North America? I remember there was a Russian there and he would call me "hero". I guess genetics has some influence on thinking-Im part Lithuanian. Thx for these videos.

definitely, but that should be common sense. Second, this is for training for a sport not general health and fitness so there will be some movements that aren't the best for the joints unless you have been trained for it.
@adkzMitch

@ Luka Fuzul: Your comment is absolutly BS!!! This exercise is best for quad stretching and helps to prevent patellar tendonitis! Your version with "heals behind the glutes" is the "soft version" of quad and ankle stretching. Many weightlifters do this exercise: watch?v=WLh0jF5M_gY
@tank1672

adkzMitch I was talking for the people with bad knees. I was doing it with my 2 colleagues who had knees problem. They are saying that in some point of stretching they feel the pain. This is not my area of sport, but if this is recommended for weightlifters that's fine, and it should be. But people who had knee surgery or some "work" on their knees i'm not sure. And what is "BS" stands for?? :)
