For this annual festival many residents wear authentic traditional Dutch costumes, which are hand-sewn in the area. Most worn in events are made to strict specifications, with no zippers-all hooks and eyes-and specific fabrics. Dancers wear 6 to 8 pairs of socks to make the wooden shoes/clogs/klompen comfortable. Here mostly female dancers are seen "clomping" in the streets around the city's Centennial Park.
