That bead buster is the coolest thing I've seen in a while! Last time I did a tire it was the old bead hammer & bars & hope you don't ding the rim with the toe of the hammer. I like that contraption you made for holding the wheels as well. Farmers always make the best engineers. 👍👍

Pick up a gallon of Skid bead breaker and lubricant from Stoner. My tire shop introduced it to me and I've had great luck with rusty rims and dried out tires. I have a similar china made bead breaker and had the same problems as you. I'll have to modify it like you did. Thanks for the videos, always learn something from them.

There is a plow day event on April 15 Saturday, Between Dowagiac and Decatur on M-51. Last year there was about 30/40 tractors plowing. Just letting you know if you wanted to drive up and check it out. I believe it starts around 8:00 am until when ever.

That is a neat old tractor, in the day of computer tractors that breakdown constantly I can never understand why farmers don't run the old reliable iron. That is a 3208 Cat engine, you can get engines and parts everywhere for that engine.

Thanks for another great video, I'm the same way here try to be self sufficient all we need now is a bigger lathe and mill for the shop. I do all our ag tires/fluid and all on farm but car or pick up goes to town. I get guys come in here see me doing our tires and say will I do theirs .nope I do ours to save time and money i'm not doing theirs to earn money they couldn't pay me enough L.O.L . To be honest that tractor looks way better with new boots, it's a shame you couldn't swap that old cab on a spare day. From what I see the spare one looks a good match to the hood, and I wouldn't paint the tractor after,she'd still be a tidy looking working machine with a bit of polish on the silver . Take care.

If you're going to change the wheel holder for the forklift, put steel tubing on both forks with a cross between them to hold the 4 bolt spindle. It would spread the weight to both forks if you handle loaded tires.

Phosphoric acid will stabilize that rust, turn it to black iron phosphate, and you can paint over it. Its a bit slippery too while its wet. I spray about every rim before I put the tire back on.

I know there shouldn't be much moisture inside the tubes tire and especially since you dont have chloride in the anymore it shouldn't really be a problem bjt when i have a really rusty rkm like that i always paint and or peime the rim. Did you not do it cause you didnt want to spend the time or like i said it really wont get that much worse due tk the linited moisture in the tire.

I have heard the local tire places charge $100+ to pull one apart and $100+ to put it back together depending if it's on the tractor or not. Calcium is extra. Some won't touch Calcium because it's considered hazardous material. None will clean the rim if it comes apart bad rusty you either take it and clean it yourself or replace it. None will reuse or patch a tube thats had Calcium in it. I do understand that. That bead breaker just paid for it's self first time out. Now hide it before the neighbors hear about Ethan's tire and rim cleaning charging rock bottom prices.😁

If you need liquid ballast, Rim Guard, a.k.a. beet juice is the way to go for sure, weighs more per gallon, non corrosive and it smells like teriyaki sauce. It's not cheap.. Stuff helps my little tractors wrestle above their weight class for sure! You changing your own tires is very smart, saving money, creating content and ensuring you are in much better physical shape than the keyboard farmers that would have shucked the bucks and sat on their fat ass while the kid at the tire shop did it it for them.
@Oliver66FarmBoy

I hate liquid ballast. That’s the first thing we do if we gat a tractor with loaded tires is drain them and add wheel weights.
@super6954

So how many stubborn /calcuim filled farm tires like this have you pumped and fought in your own farming career ? I can tell you I've done a fair few in 30 odd years on our farm. The older and more beat up my body gets farming and fixing equipment for other guys out in the cold and wet. The 18 year old at the tire shops getting nearer to it being his problem, until it comes time to think about paying the $300 bill for call out /hour rate plus tires. So I do it all again, and repeat next time the kids comming after L.O.L.
@fruitfarmfords8243

@Oliver66FarmBoy I can't hang enough wheel weights on my tractors to equal the weight of the liquid. My 4610 with 14.9-28 tires has 1100lbs of beet juice in the rears combined. Would take 5 weights per side to do that, would stick out too far. I guess, it's all about context, what works for one operation doesn't always work on another.
