Beautiful knife. I am wanting to start making my own knives and I was wondering what the red material you use is? The thin strips. It is very beautiful in the finished product and adds a nice touch. Is it a wood? I just found you channel and subbed. Amazing work

it's a beautiful knife. I had problems with a similar end cap coming off 3 times in the final grinding process. I believe this resulted from differential expansion coefficients between brass and bone. I tried cooling the handle in water as I shaped the piece on the belt sander. In the end I was not satisfied that the cap would stay on, so I screwed it on with a small brass screw counter-sunk into the end cap. Its not pretty, but is hopefully secure. Do you have any thoughts on this problem?
@Mario-z3p

***** I just use araldite very strong epoxy and the end cap is sanded by hand no belt sander.
@philjones1249

I was using araldite, but I guess the belt sander was too aggressive / hot. I'll try by hand next time.

***** Drill the end-cap for the tang and countersink the top a little. Have the tang a touch longer and tap it with a hammer, lots of light taps will peen it over enough to hold it tight even without epoxy. I've used the method for 40 years.
