Have you tried out the Wiha's 38060 or the Wera 8001 mini bit ratchet? I find it more comfortable to use on non captive pivot screws than the stubby.

I actually just picked up a nice small edc type bit driver from The James Brand that's not too badly priced. That's what I use when im out. When breaking down knives I use the same Wiha stubby driver you have as well as the CRKT brass driver which is actually pretty awesome for like $16. I have a secondary ifixit precision set thats also very good.

Actually use a stubby ratchet driver and a couple of pen style ones along with electric low torque drivers. But I got mine a long time ago as I do some electronic repairs. Totally agree with the good bits much less chance of stripping out than the cheap ones. Keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

I too like the Audacious Concepts v5.0. I have the satin version. Great design and easy to torque things down if needed.

Those fancy drivers are sick - Might need to step my game up. I’ve scratched my pivot in that exact way multiple times 🥲

The top 3 1/4” bit driver brands are Wiha / Wera / & Felo all German made, the only other one that’s really high end is PB Swiss drivers.

I've got the Vero Engineering Fulcrum Mini and I rather like it. At home I use my BRNLY brass driver from Scout Leather.

I used to stand by Wiha 100% until they started producing overseas like in China and Viet Nam and in fact, KC Tools dropped their partnership with Wiha because of the lower quality Wiha tools because of them outsourcing to overseas plants. A lot of the Wiha tools and bits being sold on Amazon are not manufactured in Germany anymore and you are buying Chinese/Vietnamese tools with just the name of Wiha printed on them.

Interesting. Who do you recommend then? And do they sell 30 packs

Bro, I refuse to buy any knife over $50 that has a free spinning pivot. In 2021 it's just not acceptable to me.

Make sure you get the Wiha bits that are actually made in Germany, they commonly sell the Czech (and Hungary?) manufactured ones and they are absolutely not the same quality (even tho they’re still better than 99% other bits) It might be why you have to replace them so damn often 😬

The Germany ones absolutely do not bend ever. They are hardened/tempered properly

Why would they sell 30 packs then? I also swap them as habit. And T6s will always bend a little

Thats funny, I was just looking for bits and drivers from wera and wiha. I bought the wiha flag drivers a while back, but the t6 is stripped... Scored 2 sets of scales for my Neutron 2's in fat carbon and the blue tek wood coming from todays drop and thats a reason for some new tools! I see you have the "knife nails" from fidgeting with knives all day. Im waiting for the nail to finally wear thru. Its gonna hurt like hell. Im gonna have to stay away from frame/liner locks for a month or so....thanks for the info on the drivers/bits. Much appreciated. vids and lives are great. I try to catch them all

Just going from your personality, I think if you get into sharpening you'll probably go all in. Probably a KME would suit you. This knife shit takes weird turns. I've been at it almost 40 years and I just finished a 10+ year fixed blade phase and went back into higher end folders, specifically left handed by design. I got sick of having to adapt to something and use it backwards. It's all crazy if you step back I suppose.
