That was brilliant mate, you made that explination of how to get to a convexed bevel edge so easy to understand. A definate favourite for future reference. Thank you mike, simon.

Very good tutorial gav, helped to see how you get how you blend the flat grind into a fuller convex. Have to say that that bladw would make one epic kitchen knife :P maybe scaled down though :P

Oh man, I can't wait to see the finished blade! Looks great! I especially like the tanto tip. Good demonstration. I have a question. The graphite pad on the platen for my Grizzly is wearing out quickly and I'm going to have to replace the pad. Did you alter the pad on the platen of your Grizzly? If so, could you describe the changes that you made?

I enjoyed your video ! Thank you I'm just wondering what is that "device" you used to make mark on your machete edge ! In 1:30 of your video. I think that was for dividing the edge to half in order to know how far to go with it ( If Im not mistaken ).Would you explain what is that devise and where can I buy it or make it please ??? Thanks

Gav, roughly what angle did you start at when grinding, before you convexed? Wait, you already answered that. I have to get some of those Scotchbrite belts too.

I really liked this video. I'm not sure I fully understood what to grind to make it so not to be grinding the whole width at once. I get the concept but not sure how to execute. am watching all your vids so that soon I will attempt my first blade. Thankyou for making theses vids Gav

Can I ask why you used the wd-40 with the scotch brite? Also was the scotch brite the final finish on the blade at the end of the video? Looks like it makes a nice even matte finish. Nice looking blade by the way.

Hi mike, silly question,do u actually use the full width 2 inches of belt or mostly use the edge of the belt, parallel across the belt or at an angle grinding on the edge?
