A Very helpful video. I was thinking about putting my money in a Knipex or buying the wera set, now I guess I have to buy them both.

I've checked these out a few times but I have the 7 & 10" Knipex pliers wrenches so since I dont work on my car that often (but do sometimes) I didn't really see the need for the Weras but now that I see It, I understand the need more 👍🏻 When people typical demo these they aren't showing you real world scenarios like this, theyre jist holdimg bolts with no clearance issues. Btw, what a shity location for a bolt head 😂

I work on a system where we constantly have to R/R b-nuts in the field. Two of those Jokers cover all of our sizes. I keep them in my jacket. Reaching into my pocket and immediately producing the correct tool has become my superpower. And you can imagine how much faster it is to turn flare nuts with the faux ratcheting feature.

An important point is which clamp damages the screw head less?, the knipex if used correctly does not matter how many times you use it to insert or remove the screw, if you use it correctly, it does not damage the screw head.

Try only putting force on the back handle of the knipex, they’re meant to be unidirectional sadly.

They just introduced a knock off of these at advance auto under the diehard name called smart wrench

I’m sure they work, but knipex has a Rockwell hardness of 61…. I doubt the smartech is that high. Probably would be ok for occasional use, but my knipex have lasted 12 years and they ain’t slowing down

Why didn’t you set the Knipex plier wrench correctly, the handles should be almost together when set up right allowing you to grip both at the same time. Only then will the Knipex shine, the more pull you exert on the handles the tighter they grip, eliminating the chance of slipping. I use them on chrome finish nuts, or brass nuts and they have undone some pretty tight fixings. I have them in 125mm, 180mm and 300mm which have eliminated all my adjustable spanners because ordinary spanners slip but these do not. I’ve no experience with the Wera, but I’m a Wera fan so I’m not hating on them, in fact I’m thinking of getting the insulated ones in XS and S sizes that’s how I found this video.

THIS!!! The guy in the video either doesn't know what he's doing OR biased towards Wera for some reason enough to motivate him to bash Knipex.
