Welcome to The Blue Mouse Knits! In this video, we're going to talk about how to knit a swatch in the round. This is a great way to check your gauge and make sure your project is going to be the right size when knitting a project in the round. This is really important for projects like a sweater or hat, or really anything that you are knitting in the round and you need it to be a specific size. As knitters our tension can change from knitting flat vs knitting in the round and that can translate to our gauge. So our gauge can be off if we are knitting a swatch flat, but our project in the round. There are 2 ways to work a swatch in the round, in this video I will demonstrate both. The first way has you cut your yarn after each round, and the second way conserves yarn so you can unravel your swatch and use the yarn later.
If you're a beginner knitter or you're just starting out, this video is a great way to learn how to knit swatches in the round.
