Kim, remember that with each stitch, you're pulling up a loop and the size of the stitch is controlled by the size of the needle in your right hand. So when it's time to change sizes, swap out the right-hand needle, knit the entire row and THEN change the left-hand needle. I promise it will work! Actually, sometimes I use a slightly smaller left needle throughout the project so it will be easier to get the right needle into the stitch. Try it on a swatch and see.

Yes I do this it works great. Just do not forget and end up with 2 different needles on your cable, go to start another project and think you lost a needle 😅

Okay ladies it’s confession time 😏 I have been a subscriber and avid watcher of your channel since day one. I enjoy seeing your projects and hearing all about the process. My confession is that I usually have no clue what techniques you are talking about since I have never knitted anything more advanced that a garter stitch lap blanket 😊 it’s like watching advanced cooking shows when you don’t even own a skillet 😂😂. I just enjoy your stories and descriptions of the processes you use. I see those fantastic sweaters you make and I sit here in amazement 😳 thanks for sharing all your knitting adventures with us ❣️

Kim, great tips about the Dingley Dell. Just before I starting watching the video, I realized that I had missed two increases - on the same sleeve! So, one I have decided to work in, and the second I might work in elsewhere. I also really like the idea of the decreased needle sizes on the neckband. I am also doing size 4 because I am using a local merino-cotton sport-weight yarn, and I also want to avoid a gaping neckline. Great fit on that Ranunculus! Jonna, I've inherited some blingy buttons looking for a project, like your cardigan. Great idea about starting to bind off at the nape of the neck. And I love that sock bag!! The colors actually match my living room.🙃
@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carmen! So annoying when we miss those darn increases, right? But I'm sure however you decide to make them up will be absolutely fine. I hope the smaller needle sizes for the neck rib work for you. And I LOVE my new Ranunculus, but it's way too warm to wear it these days. Can't wait to see your blingy buttons on something! And we really hope you win the sock bag. ;) K&J

Change only one needle, until the end of the row. Your knitting onto is the one you change, then after entire row you change the second needle. You can do it with a separate cord and cap that’s fine too. Oh, this was filmed long ago….sorry. Love you guys found you from the KAL. You guys are so lucky to have people near you that knit.
@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Trudy, I definitely do that when I'm changing from a larger to a smaller needle, but I am a tight knitter, so when changing to a smaller to larger needle, even if I change just the right needle, I can't get the most recently knit stitches from the end of the previous round back onto the bigger needle to start the next round. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but maybe I'll make a video about it someday. Haha! :) Kim

Jonna, I totally feel you on the long tails for tubular bind off. I wear a size 3X, so most of my hems are 300-600 sts. Tubular is my go-to bind off, so you can imagine how many times I’ve been there with that longgggg tail 😅 My best tip is to do it in pieces. I used to be completely against cutting and rejoining yarn for this, but I finally tried one day and I’ve never looked back. I’ve figured out a way to join totally invisibly and it’s a lifesaver. My other suggestion, for when you’re holding yarn with mohair, is to omit the mohair for the tubular bind off. Binding off with a single strand is much easier and you won’t see a difference in the end. Plus, depending on the fiber you’re using, you will retain even more stretch without the mohair. Hope this helps for next time 💖
