Michaela god love you with all the mishaps on this episode, fair play to you for continuing! I'm so impressed with your determination for your Sweetshop, it's going to be beautiful. I would love to make one but I know well that I'd get fed up and it would sit in a bag for years! Would LOVE if you made that spreadsheet, but also a lot of work! If you do, let us all know if we can buy you a coffee or something via whichever app makes sense - that's too big a job to do without caffeine reimbursement!

😂😂 thanks for watching! That’s really kind of you to offer that. I’ll keep you all posted on it anyway and maybe I’ll make a kofi or link my ravelry wishlist or something if anyone feels the same way ☺️❤

For the Ranunculus you could crochet elastic thread in around the opening to make it smaller. … Lovely projects - your purple cardigan is gorgeous! I’m currently making a Sweet Shop blanket and enjoying how lovely the squares are. Nice gradient and I appreciate your previous discussion on your process. Thank you!

I was gonna suggest sewing in elastic on her moms socks too

Thanks for the kind words ☺️ I’ll consider the elastic thread but I’m worried it will make it bunch a bit as I want it a good bit narrower, not just a little!

Your Rivendell is beautiful! The math behind all your work gets me every time, I always need my friend to figure it out and as she is no knitter it means a lot of explaining beforehand 😅 Maybe you could try to secure the knots and loose ends on your Sweet shop blanket by punching them with felting needles? I also don't like working on magic loop but with dividing the round in 3 sections instead of 2 it's almost like working with DPNs. That way I avoid laddering too.

Thank you so much! I actually hadn’t considered felting needles - I’ll look into it!

The wide neckline Ranunculus does look pretty on you imo. But if you don’t like it, you could take off the neckline as you suggest but pick up the stitches and then knit upwards, either in ribbing from the off or in stockinette and then moving onto ribbing, until you get a neckline you prefer. Might be easier than having to knit down and graft? You’ll get a reversal of stitch direction and an offset in the stitch columns but that might not be noticeable, especially if you go straight into ribbing.

Thank you! That’s a good idea actually, I don’t know why I didn’t think of that 😂

What about just crochet slip stitch around the ribbing and use a smaller hook if needed to get the size you want

I’ll try that but I want it to be a good bit narrower and I’m not sure I could get that without making it bunch up a lot 🤔

For your Rivendell Cardigan, I feel your pain on the button-band! I had the same thing happen to me on a cardigan of mine--after spending hours and hours picking up at the wrong rate, I had to undo it all. HOWEVER, instead of picking up again, I decided to try another method using this tutorial from AKANoraKnits: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2ZBou4x3rYSeaYI. With this method, the double-knitting is connected to the piece row-by-row as you go instead of picking up before-hand. Maybe check it out in case you want to try a different method for the other side of the button band (or just have this info in your back pocket). Happy knitting!

Yeah I’ve seen that tutorial! I personally prefer the look of the picked up stitches and I actually don’t mind picking up stitches, it’s just a lot of knitting to redo 😅
