I legit can't with Tim lmao. He gives it an 8/10 for being a too well-thought-out murder mystery. I didn't know such a thing could exist but here we are. Baffling.

The end of Glass Onion was more about ruining Miles' reputation and credibility. Not only was the Mona Lisa destroyed, but it was destroyed in an explosion caused by Miles' alternative energy generators. It's true that they couldn't prove Andi's murder or that Miles stole her ideas, but Miles is definitely facing tons of lawsuits after this.

The first movie was a surprise how good and fun it was. This one really built on the first and was a joy. Blanc is such a fun character and the cast is great. This one left me excited for the next one. 😂

Every single reveal in Glass Onion is in plain sight but the audience misses more than half of them because we’re laughing at these insane characters. Even the Andie reveal is foreshadowed with two key clues. A good mystery movie isn’t the one that you can easily solve, it’s one that entertains the fuck out of you and gets better on a second viewing when you notice all the pieces in motion. Glass Onion absolutely nails that.

For me the biggest disappointment in their review was they did not pick on how both sisters parted their hair differently, I was sure they would be one of the few who noticed it and brought it up in the "wigging out" section.

45:15 I think Nick doesn't understand that is literally the point of Glass Onion. It's a dumb guy, trying to pretend to be smart and clever, but never really is. The movie is not trying to hide stuff, it wants you to assume it's him, it practically spells it out right away.
@OmegaArchetype

@UCzB6tWM46JOZ3sAfx8lSc5w Sadly, seems the whole crew didn't really get it, cause they all pretty much agreed with his sentiments. But I can understand being disappointed if you went in expecting a true mystery. Instead the mystery is: How in the world did this guy (Edward Norton's character) fail his way up in the world?

nick comes from a story perspective and having the movie wear everything on its sleeve isn't very fun when you have a direct comparison to the first one. Probably why Rian Johnson didn't want knives out in the name.

I could not disagree with the crew more about Glass Onion. I absolutely adore it, and way prefer the way it's shot with everyone visible the first time around instead of the "cheap" way to film it the first time where you can just show the same event from different perspectives. "turn before" and then "turn after" isn't, to me, as fun or as honest for the mystery as the way this was filmed. I have watched no less than 20 reactions to this movie, and no one has seen the handoff of the glasses on the first viewing, but it's legitimately there, the audience naturally falls for the same distraction Miles wants for Duke by bringing attention to Birdies dress. Greg is the first person that I've seen bring up Claire bump into Duke and the seed planted for her stealing the gun. But you can also see the cell phone AND the gun in Miles possession through the film once Duke dies. The first time you see Helen shot, when Benoit bumps into her he says "Helen" instead of Andi, but the audience doesn't pick up on that because it's natural, fast, and the reveal hasn't happened yet. The magic of this movie is that it fully is a slight of hand, it presents everything openly, you CAN solve it by paying attention, most just do not. I adore it

It seems like none of them got the point of Glass Onion. Might want to just google the name of the movie and what it means. I love the fact that the billionaire isn't beat through truth or the law, because just like in the real world and said in the movie, the sheer might and power they wield would crush their opposition. Hear, she uses his own idocy, arrogance and overindulgence to win. Also, identical twins are theing in real-life and Benoit builds his idea around that, it's actually giving him agency, not taking away from it.

I really like the second movie. It's not as good as the first, but it's way more fun. The beauty of it is that it's not like the first. The reveal isn't just meant to give the audience an answer, but also explain the movie. Glass Onion is not your generic mystery movie sequel like Death on the Nile. If you pay attention you start to see that. The heroine here isn't a clever person trying to get out of a bad situation. Here she's just a regular person who's trying to get justice and has to brute force everything. The antagonist isn't trying to out smart everyone. He's just trying to fool them and use his money to subdue them.

One of my favorite shots in Glass Onion is the one where the camera lingers on Miles when it's revealed that Helen is Andi on disguise (I think it's after Birdie figures it out, the *gasp* "Oh wait!"). Miles has this "wait a minute" face, like he's so stupid, that he just put it together that Andi is indeed dead, and there was an imposter standing in front of him. It's one of my favorites because it just emphasized how much of an idiot he is xD

I figured out Knives Out after the Morphine scene. I’ve been given morphine, you feel sick as hell for the first few moments before the pain relief kicks in. So the lack of side effect told me that someone had changed the labels. I figured Ransom because Rian, prefers the obvious choice over being clever which for a lot of people is what makes it clever. But then I realized later that Rian liked the idea of the story more than the reality of the situation, so I technically got lucky cause Harlan would’ve noticed the affects of the morphine especially if he was gonna OD but he doesn’t, but that doesn’t matter for the sake of the mystery here

People who always pick on wigs completely missed the subtle hint on how she parted her hair differently one did it on the left and the other did it on the right. I was sure they would being it up during wigging out, but seems like they were not into the movie that much. For me glass onion is more of a comedy as it's more enjoyable, I like the symbolism of Glass Onion that everyone was trying to make it look and sound like some complex puzzle when the solution was so simple, just like the Beatles song - Glass Onion at the end.

Greg Miller is a natural showman :D I like how Glass Onion ends (love Benois and "I'n Not Here" Guy smoking the cigars watching the fireworks bc fuck em) but also enjoyed Knives Knout more. Ofc I wanna see more Cases Of Benois Blanc tho. The line "I love my boobs, they're so fun OOPS SORRY FEMINISTS" is one of the dumbest things I ever heard so frankly TOO REAL (doesn't even make any sense). On the other hand, "don't mistake speaking without thought for telling the truth" is like the opposite vibe.

I thought the name in the same breath as the Mona Lisa thing was so telegraphed. It was such a bad payoff cuz it was so obvious. The phrasing is vague enough that said it the first time and I was like ok so it's gonna get destroyed and that's what they mean. Glass onion had some cool aspects, but overall just felt hollow and not as well put together as knives out
