If you take away Poppy and the reggeaton breakdown, Suffocate might just be one of the most straightforward Knocked Loose songs in their discography... Which is not necessarily a bad thing, it's got everything most of us love about them, but without those two elements, there's nothing shocking or different about it. I think that might be why you're not blown away by it as much as you were with the other two singles. That being said, it's important to keep in mind that Suffocate wasn't supposed to be on the album... The album was already finished, so they might've written Suffocate in a bit of a rush, resulting in a "simple" song for KL standards, elevated and carried by Poppy's feature.

I have not watched your entire video yet. But I will finish it first thing tomorrow morning. I just wanted to say Poppy Is going hard af. From her original creepy videos to this. She’s impressing the fuck out of me. Knocked loose went hard af too. The middle of the song, after Poppy screaming is fucking genius. The playfulness between the down strumming of the strings (guitar and bass) with the trashcan drums. That’s classical level dissonance. Either someone is musically educated, or the band is genius af.

Either way ^ to finish my comment. The string down strumming goes hard. Everything does. But my favorite part is Poppy scream, leading into the drums and strings playing off each other. 🖤
