I got the 18000btu buddy heater, 20lb tank with adapter hose and that little fan. It's great. I can set it at 4500, 9000 and 18000btu. It's great. Used it to heat my garage when I was working on my truck. It couldn't heat the garage properly as the door was open and the truck just nosed in. (My garage isn't big enough) but it helped keep the winter chill away while I was working all day.

@AdventureswithSpackmann the buddy claims 4k btu output on low. Ozark claims 5,500 btu on low. Buddy should win burn time on that setting, too but the margin would be interesting.
@AdventureswithSpackmann
10 ай бұрын
@@mwilliamshs it would. With the buddy I close to 44hours on high hooked up to a 20# side by side with 20s would be interesting too.

@AdventureswithSpackmann the difference on the same settings isn't enough between the two but the big one on high and the smaller on low, the smaller should be more effective at using more of the fuel in a bottle before getting too low to operate due to vapor pressure vs consumption rate. Example: My LPG generator won't run at all on a 20 lb tank in even cool weather and even a 100lb can be too small in really cold weather.

Was that CO detector not alarming until 999ppm?... That is not good at all. The alarm should be going off at 50ppm, as anything above 50ppm is very bad for health, especially for anyone who already has health issues. You start getting around 300 and 400 or more ppm, and then the serious stuff starts - Headaches, Dizziness, Euphoria, Vomiting, and then Convulsions, and then after all that (I know, I have been there), lasting for a number of hours (A healthy person would last longer), before finally your dead, so I guess at that point, no need for an alarm anyway. Anyhow - Nice video and comparison. According to statistics - 3000 ppm will cause death in 10-15 minutes - but I am not going to be the one to put that to the test 😛 👍

It's better than a Buddy heater. Handle doesnt stick out over the heat. Some people are having trouble lighting the pilot since they dont hold the knob down just like on a hot water tank.

@@AdventureswithSpackmann I just got mine late Sat. It works great in the high position which is the second click. The 3rd click is low and in low mine flutters but it is no big deal. I have found you can place a small boiler on top. It sits fairly level and you can boil 8oz of water in around 10 minutes.

Thanks for the reviews! We've always been Ozark Trail buyers for just this reason. Don't know when you have time for it but I would love to see another side by side where you brought both of them to 70 degrees, changed for new tanks and then measured burn time. I think the Ozark Trail would shine then.
