Gotta use real sinew on that flint blade. It makes the whole piece look authentic.

I use mink oil. I'm an old hickory nut. I've had my first one 40yrs. Check out the new hunting knife by old hickory around 20 bucks. Comes with a sheath I made mine out of a hide I tanned. Dyed it with golden oak wood stain it stiffened up the sheath turned out pretty cool. Takes a while for the smell to be gone. Great video .

Neatsfoot oil is made from cow tallow.check into water stain, it dilutes and can be wiped off after application. Great job on the sheath.

With water stain, you can dilute to your hearts content, and you can apply, then wipe off... I personally prefer the water stain.

Just to let you know, organic oil like olive oil has water in it and it will rust your blade. You need inorganic oil like wd40
