Around 2017 I purchased the push (not self propelled) Kobalt 80v mower. The only issues I've had with it have been that the wheels can come off but were, thankfully, put back on using a non Kobalt part that is very sturdy. I'm no 70 years old and the mower has become heavy and difficult for me to push. I have some inclines on my property, so I'm looking at the self propelled mower which is currently at Lowes for a special price - just the mower, not the batteries. My 80 Volt batteries are still in great shape and according to what I've learned, they will work with the current model of the self propelled mower. A couple of questions about the self propelled mower - can you pull it backwards while mowing? And, does the self propelled panel get in the way of your hands? In other words, I don't want to accidentally push the self propelled function to go really fast by accident. Thank you for a great review - AND - I love all of your clover!!!

One thing to know is, although there is a 5 year replacement or refund warranty on this machine, once the 5 years is up you may not be able to get parts or repairs done. I have a Kobalt 80 volt mower with a bad control board that is not available. This is a $25 part that runs the whole machine. The rest of the mower is in perfect condition. Because of this Lowes and Kobalt have made this a throw away mower. So if part of the reason you bought this mower is to be more environmentally friendly then consider most of it may be land fill material at any time. My gas mowers have lasted up to 20 years and cost less. Not happy.

Mine is still holding up so far. I brought the push version back in 2019-20 I think It's been a while. Lost the mulch plug however.

Do you get the same battery time you did when you first bought it? So after the warranty when that part breaks you have to buy a new mower, because you cant replace the part, yikes! That's telling you to run from that product! Good question to ask when buying a electric lawn mower, can you buy all the parts.

Glad to hear. Been lucky with mine too. The 80V weed eater from Kobalt though has been showing signs of failure

But how does it perform in tall wet grass?
@gardenonahillvin

Hi, we typically don’t mow wet grass because that causes uneven cuts as the leaves fall down when wet and heavy and our soil turns muddy so I can’t really tell how. We do mow grass that’s a bout 10 inches tall with this and it’s the same as gas

Cool mower but these 80v kobalt batteries are terrible! Charger is cheap too. Thanks for the review!

Hello Matt and thank you. You are welcome. I’m sorry it did not work for you. I have about 8 Kobalt 80V tools and equipment and the batteries have been good for me but not saying it won’t crap out. Good luck to you.

How do you fold it though lol

You can fold it if you remove the knobs. It comes folded in a box when you buy it and then you assemble
