@Adrian Flores No i mean he was definitely one of the more polarizing players in NBA history but from 2003 to say 2008, he was no question the most hated player in the league due to the Colorado case and being perceived as the one getting Shaq traded and Phil fired.

He was coming for everyone's necks!!!!! Even though this season was a bad season for the Los Angeles Lakers due to injuries and a sudden coach change, not to mention that they missed the playoffs that season, but Kobe was giving the entire NBA world and David Stern a taste of what life and hell was going to be like for the next 5 years, in a way.

Kind of ironic to hear about Doug Collins talking about an Achilles injury

This was the start of Kobe's villain origin story arc, because he went through a huge character development due to that alleged rape case in Colorado.

@hansfabiankoeger8657 I mean, did I not tell one single lie? He was clearly falsely accused of sexual assault. That's why they dropped the case and acquitted him of all charges. They were out to get Kobe, and they painted him into a villain as soon as Shaq got traded to Miami and Phil Jackson, left, or got fired. Many people blamed Kobe, and he was like, "Alright then, you want me to be the bad guy? Fine!!!! You asked for it!!!!!" This season was just a preview of what was to come for the next 5 years.
